A new law in the state of Virginia prohibits teens to use cell phones while driving. Most people think that this is a good idea while some parents are worried that they will never be allowed to call their kids while they are out. What is your opinion on this law?

Here in the UK, they are introducing tougher laws on the use of mobile phones whilst driving. Personally I am in favour of any law that helps protect the safety of others. It doesn't mean to say that you can't use a phone whilst in a car, all you need to do is simply pull up somewhere safe, switch off your engine and make the call. So many car accidents are caused because drivers who didn't give the road their full attention for one reason or another. If a ban on the use of mobiles phones is in force, it is only to help cut the number of deaths and injuries caused in traffic accidents. I understand that parents do worry about their teenage children when they are away from home but there is no harm in saying to a teenager, look we worry about you, when you get time, pull over safely and call us when you are out and about.
