Linux got just one name and it is "LINUX". All the other names are different distribution that is developed on Linux kernel. The best distro for me is openSuse especially the latest version 10.2. Suse is one of the most easiest distribution around.

I think there is not a single "Best Linux" out there. There are a lot of great distributions but the definition of great depends on what you want or need. If you are a company you should consider Red Hat because they give you support. If you are a user there are so many equally good options. Some say mandriva is the most user friendly distribution, others say that about OpenSuse. My experience tells me that Ubuntu is the one to choose if you are new because they have a huge community and chances are that if you have some problem someone else had it first and post the solution to a forum. I personally like Linux Mint, wich is an Ubuntu with just a twist of user friendlyness.
