Why watch Amelie?

THE FISH WHO COMMITTED SUICIDE will be the title of my memoirs. This is a funny bit in the movie 'Amelie'. This movie would be on top of my favorites list. It's a great mix of fantasy, romance, humanity and hope -- things that this world needs more of. Why are people so afraid to dream and shun those who do? Why can't our lives be a little more exciting? I believe that social constructs mold people into machines whose life-goal is to gain material wealth for recognition and survival. Amelie is a very dynamic movie. The transitions are well thought out. Every scene has its purpose. The movie seems a moving painting of Renoir capturing the beauty of the French country side and the palpable rythmn of the city. I hope to hear your thoughts on the movie and on other movies that have a similar theme.

I think I like to watch it because it is a reminder that whatever life may give you, it is a constant struggle and you must look at the people around you with clear and hopeful eyes.
