A lady once told me I was immature but yet I had a lot of experience with the said subject. It is difficult when you are having fun and you go a little over the dge to try and stay mature. Fun takes the maturity out of wack and causes you to be embarrassed sometimes. Do you beleive that experience causes a person to mature or age does?

I think it comes from experience, you may be old but not that mature about some stuffs since all you did all your life was to depend on someone or you never really got out of your shell and never experienced the pain, glory, joy that life brings. You may also be young but because of what you've been though in your life, it has taught you a lot and helped you grow as a person.=)

For me it's the experience that enable us to get more mature. To take seriously the opportunities that comes along our way...

i alwasy believe that age is just a number and maturity does not come along with it necessarily. there are those who are matured in a young age because of their family background and experiences. there are those who are even over fifty or so and yet still immature most of the time. i say, maturity comes with experiene. but i don't believe that when one reaches his/her maturity, she/he is no longer allowed to have fun. i can say that i have a part of me which is mature enough to take so many responsibilities in life. and yet, i keep the child inside me alive all the time. i can't say i am immature. i just love being a kid sometimes. have fun and it keeps me young at heart. it is better to balance everything. why not combine maturity while having fun and putting aside age. well, maturity comes with responsibilit. we know when to be serious and we know when to have fun.

This is a hard one. My first instinct was to answer maturity comes with experience. Then I thought about it and more experience comes with age. So this was a hard one. But I think when you get right down to it experience brings maturity. And you can have fun and still be mature. I have a ton of fun, and I'm sure people have questioned my maturity. But anyone who truly pays attention knows I am mature, and I could care less about anyone elses perception. Good discussion!

I think maturity is measured by the use or practical application of the things you've learned from your experience. Having experiences to a ceratin type of situation or circumstance does not necessarily mean that you are mature enough. Maturity will only comes in when you are able to impose and show the things you have learned and applied it to the situation where it is applicable. Even though you have lots of experiences but you are not able to learn and get lessons from it, that experience will be useless. As a result of that, you will just only commit the same mistakes all over again because of the fact that you are not able to use the necessary precautions. Maturity does not come with age because some people, even though they are old enough, they still are not mature due to the fact that have no eagerness to grow or they believe they have enough. Maturity is measured not by yourself but by other people. It is on how people see you that you maybe able to know the growth in your individuality as a person.
