What is a soulmate?

I have heard many opinions about soulmates and I have my own, but I would like to find out how other people feel about them. What exactly are soulmates? Are they real? What makes you someones soulmate? Can you be more than one persons soulmate? Is this a destined thing? Does everyone have a soulmate? How do you know if/when you find yours? Is is always a male/female connection? How deeply connected are soulmates? Is this the person who can make you the happpiest if you marry them? Is your soulmate necessarily your best friend also? What are the characteristics of being a soulmate? What do you look for or do you just find them without looking? Has anyone out there found theirs and have any advice for me? What if you are already with a partner and then find your soulmate later? Is the soulmate bond a bond that can never be broken because of what is is? I would appreciate any advice on this subject. soulmate actually means spiritual attraction between two soul, so close that there is no place for any misunderstanding

one could say that if the person is spiritually looking for one's other half. But mostly majority will see it as another half where each has the same interest and connections. The old days, one's soulmate will be someone who has benefits to the other, like the ones you watched in dramas.

Soulmate is a person whre you can rely on when you are happy or sad, rich or poor, stand or stumble, weak or strong, fight and make up, learn and suceed, laugh and cry aand he/she is a person where you think you will feel home and safe. It can be your partner or your friend. Soulmate is real .

To me a soulmate is a person that completes you, and it is also someone that your heart and soul can't live without. For example my now husband and I were on again off again since 2000. In the times we were off we both tried seeing other people but we could never feel that way for another person as we did for eachother, and fate always brought us back together. After 6 years of on again off again (mostly on just for the record) we got married March 31st of last year (2006). So now I am married to my soulmate, and we also share a beautiful baby girl. I couldn't be happier!!

Many theories exist as to what is a soulmate. The original roots of the concept go back to a belief in reincarnation. A soulmate is someone that you have encountered in many different life times and have loved many times. That’s why the first time you meet them in this lifetime you feel as if you have known them forever before you even knew their name. There is a mystical deja vue energy right from the start. Can you have more then one soulmate during your lifetime? Originally, the answer was no. As the definition of the word soulmate has changed, so has that answer. People’s religious and spiritual beliefs deeply affects how they view the concept of soulmates.

Soulmate (or soul mate) is a term sometimes used to designate someone with whom one has a feeling of deep and natural affinity, friendship, love, intimacy, sexuality, and/or compatibility.
A related concept is that of the twin flame or twin soul – thought to be the ultimate soulmate, the one and only other half of one's soul, for which all souls are driven to find and join.
However, not everyone who uses these terms intends them to carry such mystical connotations; they are sometimes used simply as an expression of strong emotional feeling for someone.

A soul mate is someone who knows you in and out. Who knows where you are and what you might be doing even when you are thousands of miles apart. I am so lucky that I have found someone like that and to tell you once when I was feeling hurt and miserable and lonely suddenely I get a call by my fiance and he just asked me "are you allright I just had this bad feeling that you might be upset?" I was very surprised and I told how did you know? he was like may be we are connected. I think thats what it is even though you are far away you are connected by the thoughts with the one you love I think thats a soulmate......

well yes everyone can have a soul mate there are no rules about it
i think you know when someone is your soulmate
if you feel alote the same inside on many things
i think that soul mate really do not have to explain there selfs to eachother cause they think and feel on the same level
as i see it you do not look for a soul mate either you find him or not, you can find him from a young age or from an old age,
but one thing is sure it is worth it, the bond between you and your soulmate worth everything

A soulmate is the one who knows each n everything about you. In other words, the one without whom you can't live... the one whom you love the most, with whom you want to live fot the whole of your life and with whom you wanna die also...

look pal in my views a soul-mate is a person who when cames in life can change the course of your life..its hard to find him but there is one for everybody..if I am with my partner & I find my soulmate than also I will be truthful to my partner bcoz in his/her mind i am his/her soulmate....hope you get your answer...thanx

Soul mate hmmm, many theories about that, but the meaning of soul mate for me is a girl who can understanding about me and can accept about my weakness. In my side's when i have got sadness. I don't care about their appearance, as long as they
correct with my standarts. I'll choose her.

A soulmate is someone who seems to know whatyoua re thinking as you think it, has the same preferences as you, and is extremely familiar. This does not mean they are your ideal romantic mate. IN fact, a soulmate could be your worst enemy, and still share qualities with you that fall under the category of soulmate.
The term is used very differently these days, than the way I learned it years ago.

To me a soulmate is something I have never had but would have liked too and feel it's too late for me. So here's what I think. A soulmate is your lifetime partner in marriage. Someone who understands you, not always agrees but can reason with you. Someone who is willing to share absolutely everything. someone who is 100% faithful 100% of the time. Someone who loves you for what you are and loves you more each day. Someone who stands up for you even when your wrong. Someone who never talks bad about you but talks positive. Someone who can cry when you cry and laugh with you not at you. Caring and understanding through sickness and health for better or worse.

i never really met my soulmate yet, but im guessing it would be someone who compliments my personality, we may not be that similar but we seem to fit each others personality well. I also think that -it would be someone who sort of completes you..
