With my first daughter, We wanted her initials to match her dads initials, and with my second daughter I found her name (Madison) in a crossword puzzle I was doing when I was 8 months pregnant. (answer was Madison Avenue) but I loved the name when I said it and it stuck. I know I have heard of some really CRAZY names for kids lately, and I am just wondering what is on the parents mind when they pick these. SO how did you pick your babies name?

My son is named after his father for his first and half of his middle name. We also gave him a middle name different from his father's so he wouldn't be a Jr. His middle name is hyphenated and he goes by his middle name most of the time. For our daughter we named her after me. My nickname is Tay so her name is Tayshun.

i don't have human children. i do have 9 dogs, though. i am a breeder/rescuer. they each were given their names after watching them for a while and learning how they reacted and interacted. I don't give silly pet names. But Human names. Logan, Phoebe, etc.

Ten years before I got pregnant, DH and I decided that if we had a boy, we'd name him after each of our grandfathers. Luckly, we had a boy. We didn't have any ideas for a girl name. LOL!

Neither my boyfriend nor myself want to have kids, but we do enjoy researching names. He's Russian-American and I'm Danish-Canadian, so we like to come up with names that reflect our backgrounds. So far our favourite names are Svetlana for a girl and Vladimir for a boy.

I am still single but I have thought about some names for my kids. If I would have a girl then I would name her after a flower as my name means sweet smell. My name and mother's name also have this same link . Her name is a name of a flower and my name means fragnance.

How I came up with the name of my children were chosen, well my first son his name is George Lawrence and we came up with this name due to George was someone that was a great football player here and had passed away and was a great friend of mine, and Lawrence was my first born that had passed away when he was just a small baby, the second one we named him Peter, as in the bible the third one is David and this is also biblical as with our daughters one is called Miriam she was named this after her grandmother and the last one Judith was named this as this was my original name as I was adopted.

Actually I have 3 boys ... and each name came up in their own way ... the first boy ... i use to watch a soap opera, Y&R (THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS) ... and there was a character on there that i really liked and I really liked his name as well, I found a book and looked up what that name meant and I really like what it meant so I went with the name ... My second sons name was picked by THE HIGHER POWER or universe or god whatever you want to call it .... because when he was born the nurse told me he looks like an Aaron ... and i said geeeeeeeee, i hope not cause i really didnt like that name .... then that night I grabbed my bible and the book flipped open to the psams and right in front of me was the name Aaron ... well, that still didnt convince me ... the next morning my husband came to the hospital and as soon as he came in the door he said .... i been thinking about a name ...What do you think of Aaron Micheal ...well, i couldnt argue anymore ... he is now aaron micheal ... and i love the name ... and again with my youngest son i has a similar experience .... so i just go with the flow and not stress about it ... Now all that said .... its an individual thing let your names come as they come ... but look to see the meaning of the name you are going to give your child because it will follow them the rest of their lives ... their name can be a blessing or a curse ... so be careful ... smilin ...only my humble opinion ....

Skye Windy: Skye was a character on All My Children when I was a teenager, said character is now on general hospital I believe. Windy is an old song. Zowie Elizabeth: Zowie after a character on Life Goes On, but spelled differently. Elizabeth after a woman who helped to care for Zowie's father.

Well, I myself have a very boring name and so I decided that my kids would not be the same. My daughter I decided to call Jordanna. I couldn't remember where I'd heard the name but I loved it. It was only after we had her birth and name registered that we found out that a distant cousins little girl had the same name. With my son Nikolai, I heard the name on the tv when I was 7 months pregnant and absolutely LOVED it. My partner was horrified! He hated it lol, obviously as time went by, it grew on him. Hardly anyone calls my son Nikolai though, they call him Niki for short. And then my youngest we called Nathan. I found his name in a baby book when I was bored one day. It just seemed right and so it stuck. A little more ordinary than the others but not too ordinary.

All four or my babies' names HAD to start with the letter R. My husband and I come from families with R names. We both have R names. So it was natural that we would continue on that tradition.
