Sunday Dinner

Roast potatoes - Roast potatoes - still an essential ingredient to my family Sunday dinner.

Does everyone still have a roast for Sunday dinner? Even as a vegan I still like to do roast potatoes and I usually invite my childrens dad over to eat with us so we can have a 'family' meal. I think it is nice to have one meal all together as a family in the week so you can all enjoy each others company. What do you think.

dinner - steak-dinner
We don't do anything special for Sunday dinner only because that day is Sunday. We follow our mood for eating or making a meal. Whenever feel like to make someting special I make that day. So, if sometime fell on a Sunday then we make the dinner special otherwise not.

I think that what matters is that the kids have both their parents together once a week. It's a great symptom of normality for them, and i am sure they love that sunday dinner, no matter what you prepare. Roast on sunday is mainly a british custom if i am not wrong, here in spain there is not such custom, but no matter what you decide to cook i would encourage you to maintain the family meeting tradition. And not only for the kids, also for yourself.

Hi there. I agree with you. I believe that it's really important to have that at least once a week. I grew up in a family that has dinner together every night. My parents made it a point that we have that hour or two to discuss anything happening with our lives everyday.

Every other weekend me and my partner go to his mother's house and she cooks a sunday dinner for us. She also has her grandchildren there too, and all of us sit around her dining room table and have dinner together. I really look forward to the weeks when we go, and i truely enjoy having a meal together with aprt of my family. Today was our week to go, and i had a lovely time, it's such a nice way to spend a Sunday! We tend not to have it when it's just the two of us on the weekends we don't go as it's a lot of effort to cook a roast just for two people.

My mom and dad used to do this every sunday too! I loved it and it does make for a great family time. I have to admit I've gotten away from a lot of big sit down dinners, mainly because of the change in my house. I have dinners still and we eat together but we really don't have a place to dine as my kitchen is so small so we come to the living room. It sux! LOL But I don't even do the roasts every Sunday any more either.

Oh no we rarely have a bake dinner on Sunday or any other day, but I remember while growing up that this use to be always what we ate on a Sunday night. I think that you have the right attitude though as it is lovely to be altogether for dinner and get together.

this are the old fashion ways that all of us forgot to do. most people believe that being idependent is so cool that they forget that there is no such thing, there is only interdependency. we still need one another.especially our family. they are the once who gives us strength and saves us from our daily insanity.i am very lucky , i grew up in a society where family comes first and is above anything else. we not only get together every weekends but pratically almost everyday.

We don't have a roast every sunday. We do try though. Today we are having pork chops in the crock pot. We don't gather the family around on sundays. I don't have any over here and Eddie's people are usually busy. But it is very pleasant with just the two of us.

It was a family tradition in our family that we get together every sunday and we cook some special dish and have picnic outside and share some good talk and laughs while the children are busy playing. Sometimes it really feels great to have a time with family to lighten the feeling and to keep the family tie stronger.

we don't have kids but usually we have something special for saturday dinner instead of sunday dinner. Saturday is our day together. I am thinking to close the shop early on saturday too just so we have the time together longer

I've actually never cooked a roast for dinner. I don't even think I know how! I cook a regular dinner like every other day. I never do anything special for that day.
