Where to start? Or Should I Reply to Everyone?

So, here's the situation. I've been sick all week, and I started a few topics early in the week. I'm just now getting a chance to go look at the replies, and one of them has 80 responses! It's going to take me hours to sort through them all. Of course I'll read them all and rate them, but should I reply to each poster? What would you do in this situation?

well I guess if people have expand some time writing to you you should do the same and reply to then. But that replaying 80 post is just to much! If it was me I would replay to the ones that have at least 5 lines.

Personally I'd go through rate those that have merit, maybe answer any that really stick out and the rest leave for others to worry about :) You can only do so much after all and you do not want to make yourself more sick. Your health is far more important. Just do what you can and leave the rest.

Give yourself a break sweetie. Reply to one of each of your friends' posts from each day you were sick if you can. Or just skip the posts from the days you were sick and start on today's posts. It's not like you weren't missed, but everyone has had the same problem and I have it almost every weekend. I have gotten really behind in my unresolved discussions. I know you don't get paid for them; but by golly that's how you keep your friends! I have decided that it just takes too long to add a response to every single comment on every discussion, so now all I do is rate each comment after I have read it (unless it is so good or so unusual that I HAVE to take the time to comment), then I wait for a few more days and go back and name a Best Responder. I saw on someone else's discussion that they put something like the following at the end of each of their discussions and I have borrowed it and when/if they see it I hope they take it as flattery and don't get offended. I'm sure it isn't the same wording and I hope everyone understands. It goes something like this: Thank you for your comments. I may not respond to each of them, but I will rate each of them and I will choose a Best Response ~Donna Good luck in catching up, and please don't worry!~Donna

Considering the situation, I wouldn't reply to all of them. You probably have caching up to do in other areas that are more important then this site. Be happy you received 80 responses, that is fantastic. I don't think too many will be upset if you don't reply to every post.

If it was me I would just rate them all and not respond to any. I am sure that people would understand that you can't do that, and it is also unlikely that people will go back and check to see if you have commented this long after the question has been posed.

for that many i'd say don't reply to each poster. rate him/her a positive and let it be. mylot isn't supposed to be stress central.
