For me Poor listening we can divide: Listener: a.He/she already totally a stone deaf. b.He/she is to be a stone deaf. c.He/she can't hear your soft voice. d.He/she don't likes you. Speaker: a.Your voice are very soft. b.You speak so faster. c.There are noisy around you and your listener.so he/she can't concentrate to hear your voice. d.Speaking very fast like a bullet train at Japan.

I also would add arogance to the list. Some people just love to shine and be always right. They love listening to themselfs and are not very interested in learning as they know better (in their opinion) anyway.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I would add being self-centered to the list. Some people will only listen to you when you ´re talking about them.

Yeah. I understand what you mean. I have a life example of a person who just think she's the only right person in the whole wide world. It is very difficult to speak to a person who has this attitude.

my stepdad's nearly deaf and won't get a hearing aid. 'the dog's barking' often turns into 'da log parking'. drives my mother up a wall!
