Any one here take vitex? If how are you using it? I took it for 1 month and then I stopped so I can take progesterone cream for 5 days. I read in some places one can use both at the same time, but I want to know, if any, do this or use it differently.

I have used other brands, and the patches. I used the cream of progesterone, but stopped. It caused face hair. When I stopped the hair stopped growing. I did not find a difference with the progesterone cream anyway, except that my skin was getting too sensitive from it. The hormone treatments help with flashes. I have been using these things for about 30 years. I cannot stop, even though I know it is bad for over 6 months. Good luck dear. You may need to try many things, until you feel good from what you take.

Vitex has become one of the most widely relied-upon botanicals in American and European herbalism. Vitex modifies the effect of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. Vitex extract helps regulate and balance female hormone production. Vitex has been researched due to its reputation for supporting female hormonal levels during menopause. Both extensive clinical studies, as well as over two thousand years of use in folk medicine, have proven the effectiveness of this remedy. It works by stimulating and normalizing the pituitary gland, which regulates the balance of estrogen and progesterone in the body. It is the single best herb for treating the many possible symptoms of PMS.Vitex is a safe, gentle, and effective remedy, with something to offer women in every cycle of life. Seems like if you said the doctor knew about this then he would caution you. Since I do natural remedies and this balances hormones and then you take the progesterone for a certain condition then it might counter act the cream. Just a thought since you need to fix the condition and once that is done the Vitex would indeed be a good help. Taking it like you did could be just the right thing.
