Bandaids/bandages

Back when I was a child, it was a badge of honor to wear a band aid, it was even cooler if it had a princess or something on it. However, my son acts like it's torture when he has one on and picks at it, making it worse. What do you do when your kid is bleeding everywhere and they hate bandaids? Did you like bandaids when you were a kid, or was that just some weird kid thing in my neighborhood lol?

it's probably because he's only 18 months, he loves stickers though, so I gave him a spongebob bright one, but nope still hates them!

I liked bandaids when I was a kid too. But when my step kids were little, they only liked them if someone else put them on, like grandma or something. Of course, they had their stages where they'd use a whole box and not have any cuts, but that ended eventually. I like to use NewSkin now. It comes in a spray or a dropper applicator and goes on like glue. Doesn't come off easily and is almost like it's not there. Plus, the kids can see the cut, and that seems to be cool.

I think I also like using bandaids/bandages back then, but I also don't like getting cuts or wounds, injuries or get scathed!;) Bandaids are use to help prevent infections, for protecting wounds from opening again. So I think you should only apply it whenever your kid goes out or playing with some of his friends, to prevent it from opening again and get infected. Also to avoid more bleeding when accidentally touched whenever he's playing.

I think most kids love bandaids, my son is constantly trying to convince me that his new boo-boos need one. (: He helped pick them out (curious George) and I think that's why he likes them so much. Once he had a scrape on his hand, and wouldn't look at it and kept it behind his back, when he ate, when he walked when he slept, until I put a bandaid on it, then he was able to play with it. He wouldn't even hold a sucker with his hurt hand, until there was a band aid over his scrape. Silly eh? (:

I loved the badge of honor thing when I was a kid. Especially if there was a cool story to go with it. Thing was I couldn't wear the bandaids long as they bothered me. I found out as an adult that the reason was that I am sensitive to latex. The bandaids had latex in them and it would bother my skin. I now buy only bandaids that say no latex. Maybe that is your son's problem?

I always had bandaids on! I was the overly clumbsy, accident prone girl who bruised easily lol. My son loves them, he calls them bandys and heck he puts them on even if hes not hurt hehe! Generally he likes the colored ones best. But he will use stickers and call them bandys too, putting them all over people saying hes covering their booboos. He especially likes to cover my freckles hehe.
