Of nicks and names..

A lot of the new friends here have asked me why do you call yourself hopefoo and not hopeful. I've never answered any of them because I don't feel the need to. But I just thought I'd explain here since it's a good topic.
My name is actually Hope, and being Chinese, my surname is Foo. Since we're Roman Catholics and I have two sisters, mother aptly named them Faith and Cherie. Mom thought Joy would be too cliched.
That's how we're named and that's why my username is hopefoo and not hopeful. Does your nick bear any relevance to your real name?

I noticed too that your nickname sounded like hopeful but then I realized it was probably your actual name since you mentioned being Chinese. It's a very pretty name. My nickname
is actually my dog's name and I added the 02 because a lot of sites I go to already have a Lucy or Lucy 01.

That's a lovely name - i just thought your nick was just being cute!
My nickname came along over 10 years ago while I was still in highschool. It was just something a friend said as a nickname and it stuck. i use it for all sorts now as i'm too lazy to think up a new one ... but at least i'm consistant!

that's a nice name you have. there's definitely no relevance to my name and my nick. it's the title of fergie ferg's album and i love her music so that's why. and i think "the dutchess" sounds sophisticated, i dunno i just think it is hehehe

Nah..Paranoia should be my middle name but it isn't lol.
I never usually use any part of my real name in any usernames. I do have quite a few nicknames (only one of wich is related to a username) and that's Quizzy for the while I was QuizWitch on a few websites, and Reh..which is initials. My Mom's Rah lol. It was cute when I was little lol *rolls my eyes*
But that's intresting, I always did wonder about that. I thought you did 'Hopefoo' as in making up your own words between friends or something (I'm guilty of doing the same thing..obiekaybie for example, which is just lengthening the word okay lol)..but cool! It's your name. Your name is pretty.
