What was wrong with going all the way through a grocery store without a phone call from the person at home you will be seeing in 20 minutes? Did these people shop before they had a cell phone?

A lot of them probably get calls from people at home reminding them to pick up certain things. I don't really see how it's rude, unless they're really loud or something.

i personally would like to see cell phones band in public areas where there is alot of people shopping and such esp. grocery stores at checkout line for the cashier never knows if they are talking to them or someone on the phone,..I think the cell phone should be used for convenience in helping in ones life but it has gotten way out of hand in alot of places, even in hospitals people sneak them in they don't stop to think of the risks involved....I look for there to be bans made on this in the near future such as the law is getting passed of talking on phone while driving..

Getting a quick call to remind you to get something, that you have an appt, that you need to pick up the kids is not rude at all. When it turns into a 20 minute conversation in the middle of the shampoo aisle it becomes rude.

Yeah I see how that can be annoying. However, I think it's far worse when it's being done somewhere like a bus, where the people around you have no option but to sit and hear your conversation! At least in a supermarket, you can walk away.

Peopel should not be on the phone in grcery store they block the isles then look annoyed at you when you say excuse me and try to get around them tehn at the check out they take forever to unload there cart and pay for items then realise they forgot a few and aske the stock person to fetch them for them the whole time they are talking on the phone. Tehn they realise they have coupopns so wiht out putting th ephone down they start looking for the coupons. Several time made comments so they can here like "are they so important that the world revolves around them or something" Hey lady/buddie pay for your stuff so we can all go home these peopel should not be allowed to shop at all.

The worst is when they talk while in line to check out. I was a grocery cashier for awhile, and somtimes cell phone users would ignore me when I asked for paper or plastic, tell them their total, etc. They would hold up the dang line! Now they have those headset ones, where it's connected to their ear. My grandpa didn't realize a guy was talking on one of these and thought the man was crazy lol.

This is one of my Pet Peeve's Freaking Cell Phones,LOL. They can't shop, drive or eat in a resturant without being on that stupid thing. I was having lunch at an AppleBee's and all you could hear were phones constantly ringing...I was so cheesed off. I also was shopping for paint and was held up in line while this lady talked on the phone about colors to her husband, she held the line up for 20 minutes, she almost ate my paint roller. I think the cell phones are great for emergency but these people need to turn them off in resturants and stores they are just getting to annoying. Great post!

I don't think they make people rude - I think they were rude already, the phones are just another way for them to be obnoxious in public. :\
