Do you believe that they said that strawberry seeds can cause cancer? If that so we can take off the seeds because strawberry is healthy for us.

I have never heard this before. Who is it that is saying that strawberries cause cancer? Can you provide a link to a website or to an article? I would be interested to read it. Strawberries are one of the healthiest fruits that you can eat. They contain potent antioxidants, which actually prevent cancer, as well as vitamin c, folic acid, magnesium, and other B vitamins. They are also high in fiber, which may help to prevent colon cancer. The only danger that I could think of is the use of chemicals and pesticides used to grow the berries, but this is a potential danger with any fruit or vegetable, and it is the reason that you should always wash all produce thoroughly before eating it.

Strawberries and grapes cause cancer because they absorb the chemicals from pesticides, you can't even wash them hard or peel them. If you eat organic strawberries you will be fine. If I eat strawberries and grapes which are not organic I wash them with a special soap found in Whole Food stores to wash the pesticides off. We know Pesticides cause cancer and not the fruits.

Rubbish. If that were the case, most of the world would have been affected. Somebody must be going through a dictionary, and finding things to accuse of being carcinogenic. We had some post a while ago about cold water being a carcinogen. I'm a horticulturalist. The only danger from strawberries is from hormone or neurotoxin based pesticides, and fungi, because they're grown very close to the ground. Wash them properly, and preferably eat the organic varieties.

This is the first time that I've ever heard of this. Everyone I know doesn't bother to remove the seeds before eating their strawberries. I agree with you, that if this information is spreading (true or not, it doesn't really matter at all), it will always be very easy to remove the seeds then take the bite.

I doubt it. Everything is said to cause cancer at one time or another... its kinda silly to think about it much less worry about it...
