I'd say she's a very beautiful, headstrong woman, who knows what she wants, sets out to get it, makes mistakes along the way, learns from them and grows up in the process.

a variable color that is vivid red but sometimes with an orange tinge red: of a color at the end of the color spectrum (next to orange); resembling the color of blood or cherries or tomatoes or rubies wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn Scarlet was a type of woollen cloth common in mediaeval England. The name refers to the actual cloth, not the reddish orange colour. It is probable that name of the character Will Scarlett in the Robin Hood legends referred to this type of cloth, similarly to the common occupational surnames (e.g. Weaver, Cooper, Fletcher, &c.). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet Scarlet is a color with a hue between red and orange. It is redder than vermilion. Traditionally, scarlet is the color of flame. It may also refer to the color of blood. The emission spectra for compounds of strontium are considered to be in the scarlet red area of the visible light spectrum. The emission lines occur at 640.8 nm, 650.4 nm, 687.8 nm and 707.0 nm. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scarlet_(color) In Isa. 1:18 a Hebrew word is used which denotes the worm or grub whence this dye was procured. In Gen. 38:28,30, the word so rendered means "to shine," and expresses the brilliancy of the color. The small parasitic insects from which this dye was obtained somewhat resembled the cochineal which is found in Eastern countries. It is called by naturalists Coccus ilics. The dye was procured from the female grub alone. ... www.christiananswers.net/dictionary/color.html any of various bright reds. NOT SHREWD!!! Scarlett is just a go getter. Actually, she's a VERY STRONG WOMAN. For someone, who is used to a luxurious life and be able to survive the civil war, she's something. With will and determination she survived it all.
