is it required to have friends to have your posts responded to?

having friends helps but the most important thing is having topics that are of interest to others and posting good interesting posts. Asking questions will also get many responses. Good luck. By the way your avatar is interesting. you might start a discussion on your avatar!

Maddy has clearly pointed out the importance of myLot friends here. You may have too many friends, still, your topics may not receive any reply. It is surprising. Anyway, I focus mostly on replies.

No i dont think so, i have added many friends, but not all of them answer to my discussions, and sometimes i dont answer to their discussions as well specially if i really have nothing in mind to comment to their discussions. Not that i dont want to respond- i always make it a point to check first my friends' discussions then when i can i give responses... most i think of the responses i get- are from a stroke of luck... =)
