I am not sure how unique my situation is... I can't seem to get enough of food. Despite having a heavy dinner that typically makes me uncomfortably heavy, I can get hungry a few hours after that. And every hour or so, I feel like eating something again. I am a guy so I am definitely not pregnant (:P), and I would think I am already past the growing stage. I can, of course, satisfy my urges by gobbling up unseemly amounts of food... but I don't want to get fat too. It just doesn't make sense since there should be enough food in my body for energy already, so why do I still feel like eating?

Hmmm interesting...Well my thoughts as to why you always feel like you have to eat, could be anything from Intestinal worms, tapeworms, diabetes, if you taking any medication, some medicines causes one to want more to eat, there are probably more but that's some of the things I know that could possibly cause someone who always feels hungry... You never know, maybe try seeing your doctor if this is something that recently started happening to you, you never know..Better safe than sorry...

It all depends on the kinds of foods you are eating. Junk will lead you to eat more junk. It would help to know what it is you are normally eating. The closer to the garden that you eat the more you do eat, however, it is good for you, full of the enzymes, nutrients and fiber that the body needs. Watch the food additives too, many of them are bad in the body and do not lend to healthy eating. Causing all sorts of problems. Also take your time when you eat, it normally takes your body about 20 minutes to realize that you have eaten something. Hope this gives you something to think about and adjust for healthier living.

Burgers are not really junk when they have lettuce, tomato and picle on it. Balance in all things. Good luck

Instead of just three meals a day, you need to eat more often. Try eating 6 small healthy meals a day. This will help curb your constant huger and reduce your binging.

Fast metabolism definatley does it this is the time of the year when alot of sunlight speeds up my metabolism, and I can not quence my hunger or thirst, as my body is burning thing so fast.. it's annoying actually, but at least I can lose weight without doing anything, but the opposite happens to me in the winter months.. blech :) . Many times hunger is really thirst.. so try drinking water - DNatureofDTrain

Be sure that you are drinking enough. Sometimes dehydration pains can feel like hunger pains. I know you drink a lot of tea, but make sure you are drinking a lot of water too. Stress can also make you feel like you want to eat. I know I am a stress eater...also a bored eater :-) If you do snack have vegatable, they have lots of water in them and fiber (which is filling). Plus, they are good for you :-)

Yup...drinking tes is the same as drinking water, so long as it doesn't have too much caffine. Caffine actually dehydrates you. I hope you feel better soon. Feeling hungry all the time must be awful.

I do drink water. If I am drinking tea in the evening, I am drinking water in the day. But strange, isn't drinking tea the same as drinking water? After all, pretty much all of the tea is water.

Why not just put a plaster on your mouth so you won't be tempted to eat. I assure you it will work...LOL, for nothing better to say, I'm still fuming mad over a recent encounter with an old man. Seriously, I noticed that I easily get hungry when I stayed up real late. Must be your brain telling you that they need fuel. I think you're always over-working your brain too much. You said so yourself you can't sleep well. Oh well..what am I saying to you. I'm not even a doctor. You might as well check on some site to help you with that. You're still young anyway, consider the possibility that you're still growing. My husband himself needs to eat a mountain of rice and food. And he is 10 years older than me.

It sounds a little odd. I just recently went through a similar situation..but it was caused by medication I was on...I would want to go to your doctor and tell him what is happening. If you are eating that much it can't be healthy for your body. You may have a condition etc..so you may need to find out what's going on. Try to drink more water...it will make you feel fuller...and not want to eat so much...

I suggest you consult your doctor to be tested for diabetes type 2. This is exactly how I found out I had it. Cravings for food and constantly snacking, sounds like your sugar is whacked out. Please do it today!

Well, you could start with eating a meal that has a lot of fiber such as vegetables, whole wheat bread. Then you want to drink a lot of water with your meal. If you feel hungry later it is time to bust out the Brand Cereal which has a lot of fiber, but is low in calories in fat. You can even eat it with fat free milk (hey why not try organic milk while you are at it). Then you will get more energy with less calories and fat. You may feel like eating because your meals are high in fat and sugars. They burn you out and then later they make you feel hungry. To solve that problem you want to choose meals with high fiber, lower sugar, and lower fat. If that doesn't help then start eating brand cereal when you get hungry. Pablo

As u think u r still growin then i think its jus that u shud drink more water.Coz every time u feel hungry doesnt mean tht u are actually hungry. Its jus that u are thirsty.Every heavy meal increases the space in ur tummy and everytime u eat less then the last meal ur tummy still have some space n looks for somethin more.first make sure u r nt eatin junk food as ur heavy meal.Coz that will worsen u n make u look fat very soon. For ur hunger part start drinkin water or juices i feel that will help u alot. :)

I really think you just have a fast metabolism. I have the same situation. I eat ungodly amounts of food and rarely gain any weight. This condition has never changed for me regardless of whether or not I excersize. It's funny when people tell me how lucky I am to have such a fast metabolism. I try to tell them that there is one drawback. Food costs money. Eating a lot means spending alot. Frankly I don't think you have anything to worry about, but if you have insurance you can always see a doctor just to be safe.

I think you should see your doctor just to check things out. That is not really normal and something may be going on that has a simple explanation. Have you considered that you may have a tapeworm? Certainly I would get checked out, especially if this is not normal for you and just started happening recently.

It all comes down to what kind of food you eat. Try to eat alot of fiber since this is good for keeping you full for a longer time, also eat fruits inbetween meals to keep u from getting hungry. Diet products such as diet coke and stuff have a tendansy of making you more hungry, fooling your stomach kind of.

I seldom take in fibre since I don't eat vegetables and rarely take fruits.

It sounds as though your metabolism rate is high and you're burning off the calories very quickly. You need to ask yourself whether you feel extremely active after you've eaten or not, so that you rush around burning off calories. If not, it could be a thyroid gland problem, or a digestion problem, in which case it might be worth asking your doctor for tests. I hope it turns out not to be too complicated. Brightest Blessings my friend!

I don't think my metabolism is high - would be good if so since I will never worry about getting fat! (Yet then again, high metabolism makes the body age faster, is it?)

There could be a number of different things happening and from reading the other posts I get you don't want to go to a doctor so I won't suggest it.*L* Our bodies change as we get older so that could be part of it. It could also be when you eat. If you eat a big meal say at 6pm and then don't eat anything after that until morning you body may feel like it goes in starvation mode. Therefore if your body thinks oh he is going to starve me so I need more now. This is seriously what a doctor told me once. Also because it gets in that mode and is used to eating a large meal it may demand something large as well. Try eating more meals but smaller meals with each sitting. The body will then get used to consuming smaller amounts at a time and know it is going to be fed regularly. Good luck!

nothing bad if you are able to digest the stuff you are eating. i eat about 4-5 times in between the large meals and still feel hungry. at times i even eat midnight while i am working. so i feel its ok if your digestive system allows to eat more.

it does seem like you are not eating right first of all it would be smart of you to eat every three to four hours and that means about 6 meals a day if you'll eat at 4 of those meals enough protin and carbohydrate you will not be hungry you also should drink at least 8 glasses of water between those meals and i think things would get better:) you should focus on alote of vegtables they contain in them a large sum of water. so you won't get fat from them and you also will not be as hungry:)
