That pretty much limits us to close to home. I do not drive, but would sure like to see the ocean. Any ideas on how to help my husband out?

I know where I live, the major bridge in our area - the one that is the only way to get to the shore, offers a service where you can actually pull up and have someone drive your car over the bridge for you. My guess, since that even exists, is that there are a lot of people who have phobias or fears of driving over bridges! I guess that service probably doesn't exist everywhere, but its worth looking into. My sister used it before because she hates driving over the bridge.

I've had to giggle reading this. I too do not like driving over bridges and avoid doing so as much as possible. I don't know (although I have an idea) how it started, but I just don't like doing it. I keep thinking, what will happen if I break down or a car hits me and I'm on this bridge. I try to make it across them as quickly as possible. I do cross them, just don't like it. I do not know where exactly that you live, but you said you would like to see the ocean. My family and I travel to Myrtle Beach, SC quite often. We just got back last month and plan on going back next month. There are ways to travel to it to where you do not have to cross any bridges, or huge bridges over water. Also, have you ever thought of driving? Would that help out any at all or does he just not like being in the car while crossing bridges.

We live near Orlando Florida. I have 63 and I don't think I have the right stuff to make me a driver.

sounds to me like he needs therapy. Maybe imposion may work. Start him off very small, something like a hump back bridge or something like that, after this maybe you could build up to a full sized bridge good luck blessed be

Is there a reason why? Something bad that happened in the past? I really dont like to drive around flood waters because thats a big fear but when it flooded close to our house I spent a lot of time watching the water and I'm a little less leery of it.. I would suggest him to start slowly.. like take a walk by a bridge, etc. Is this something he wants to overcome?
