Let's celebrating our disappointment...

After receiving his second Academy Award, Denzel Washington said to his family, "I told you, if I lost tonight, I'd come home and we'd celebrate." Denzel, a Christian, was trusting God, whether in blessing or in disappointment. A woman was applying for a dream job that had just opened up where she worked. The interview went well, but she knew she might not get the position. Her husband suggested, "Let's make reservations at our favorite restaurant this Friday to celebrate - no matter what the outcome." Soon the news came that someone was offered the job. But that Friday they disappointed couple still celebrated. The pain of disappointment is soothed by a heart of gratitude... -Dennis Fisher, Our Daily Bread, April 13, 2007- The stories above are real. To me, it's easy to say and hard to do, but not to do it is like killing ourselves slowly by letting disappointment set in and takes control of my life. May the Lord Jesus Christ gives me the courage and strength to celebrate any disappointment I have to face...

I totally agree with you 100%. I have had to do that on more then one occasion. I once did a cross stitch pattern and it said when God closes a door He opens a window. I trust that God always has my best interest at heart and even when I don't understand I give thanks.

Dear Grace, This response from you, knowing what you have been going through recently has helped me to be strengthened in my own journey here wherein some occasions I got disheartened deeply by what this life seemed to throw at me...=) Thank you Grace for your reminder to keep giving thanks to the Lord!

This makes a great point. It's better to celebrate then to thank God then to get down and let life depress you. I have learned this myself from the past.
