The Walrus and the Carpenter Walked on a mile or so, And then they rested on a rock Conveniently low: And all the little Oysters stood And waited in a row. after walking for 1 mile, they sat on a small rock for a break. But all the little Oysters were waiting in a line/row for them. ------------------------------------- 'The time has come,' the Walrus said, 'To talk of many things: Of shoes -- and ships -- and sealing wax -- Of cabbages -- and kings -- And why the sea is boiling hot -- And whether pigs have wings.' Walrus started non-sense conversation about shoes, ships, sealing wax(making/covering with wax like gum), Cabbage vegetable and kings. He wondered why the sea was burning hot and pigs don't have wings. ------------------------------------ 'But wait a bit,' the Oysters cried, 'Before we have our chat; For some of us are out of breath, And all of us are fat!' 'No hurry!' said the Carpenter. They thanked him much for that. But all the oysters requested the Walrus to hold the talk for a while. Because they were too fat and tired of walking alot. The Carpenter ensured them not to worry and they thanked alot to him. ------------------------------------ 'A loaf of bread,' the Walrus said, 'Is what we chiefly need: Pepper and vinegar besides Are very good indeed -- Now, if you're ready, Oysters dear, We can begin to feed.' Then Walrus said that they all required a loaf of bread, pepper and vinegar. And prepared to eat with Oysters. ----------------------------------------- 'But not on us!' the Oysters cried, Turning a little blue. 'after such kindness, that would be A dismal thing to do!' 'The night is fine,' the Walrus said, 'Do you admire the view?' The poor Oysters begged him to leave them aside. But the cunning Walrus just admired the lovely atmosphere of the great night.
