For those of you who don't know what liveops is, liveops is a company that hires homebased call agents to work at home answering inbound calls and taking orders for informecials. To apply for this job, you must be over 18 years old and currently residing in the US, as well as, legally authorized to work here---- http://www.liveops.com Anyway, for those of you who currently work for LiveOps. I just got accepted to work for this company and I understand we can do some upselling for commission. My question is what do we say when a customer jokes around and asks us if we get commission for selling the products to them? What would be the appropriate response?

I think I would tell them that I concentrate so hard on taking orders that I haven't had time to even consider anything else, and that it would be nice if we did get commissions. This way you can still appear friendly as you get away from their prying into things that are really none of their business!...LOL

In my other job, I was required to do some upselling for a magazine. I would get questions from other customers who go when I try to sell them the magazine, "(Haha) You get paid commission for this right?" or they go, "So you're selling the magazine to me so you could put extra food on the table right?". These kind of questions from other customers, left me speechless and I end up losing sales this way. I need another way to tell them. Anybody here have any ideas?

I don’t work for LiveOps, but I have worked for an inbound call center before. It is best just to laugh off questions like that and keep the conversation moving. In reality, it is none of the callers business how you get paid.
