Ok, I got a smoothie machine at a used store the other day, for about $10. I'd love to get some great, tried and true smoothie recipes to create for the kids. Anyone have some to share?

oooooo smoothies. yummmmy My favorite smoothie is 1 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of orange juice, and 2 cups of frozen yogart (or ice cream). Although I drink enough of it that I usually go ahead and double that. lol I also like strawberries with chocolate ice cream. Of course you need about a cup of ice with either of these to make them true smoothies. ;-) Enjoy your new machine.

My mom makes them with yogurt, every kind of berry that she can find, a bannana a bit of milk if needed and some ice. You can blend in whipping cream as well, and sometimes she makes them with penut butter. You can use ice cream in place of the plain yogurt if you like, but its really good no matter which way you decide.

Thanks. The peanut butter one sounds like a winner at this house. I'll have to figure it all out and how to mix what, etc. Thanks for the idea!

I love smoothies!! I make them as simple as adding some yogurt, banana, frozen strawberries, and a bit of water if it's too thick. I have also added peanut butter, chocolate syrup, and other fruits. Be creative. Just add in whatever you like and you will never get bored!

Hi Hockeygal! I am on weightwatchers attempting to lose the 25 pounds which I have gained. Frown. I make a great 'milkshake' that I learned about from a WW support group. It is devine...I promise! There are many combinations that are possible due to the many types of pudding available. I like chocolate, my hubby likes the pistachio!! Anyway, here is the recipe: 1 cup FF milk 2 Tablespoons of Sugarfree/fatfree pudding mix 10 ice cubes 1 tsp vanilla extract Blend!!

I use soymilk in my smoothies. I add 8 oz. of soy milk. 1 cup of strawberries, 1 banana and 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. I use frozen strawberries for a icy smoothie. This is really good for breakfast or for a snack.

I don't mind the soy milk when used in drinks like smoothies. I don't care for it for some reason as just to drink. I do buy the chocolate soy a lot, so that's a great idea to use the soy milk instead to get some protein in and have a slightly healthier version! Thanks for the recipe too. Definite keeper!

For kids I make always what they prefer to drink, but yourself go with more refreshening less milky type. I like to use nonfat milk-orange-banana-strawberry-pineapple and don't forget the cherry on the top!
