I stay home all the time and rarely go out, because I have a 6 month old daughter. I get bored sometimes and want to know what you other Homemakers do during the day to keep busy.

Other then housecleaning? lol, thats a never ending job unto itself. When im not working on that, i play with my son or do crafts. I crochet and sew. Or i play on the computer. In summer, i spend alot of time outside, gardening while my son plays. I go for walks, and drives when i can. Garage sale ect. Although i do have to admit alot of the time i dont feel like i have anything to do. Perhaps you can get into scrapbooking? With your baby at 6 months old you should have some time for it.

yes, I agree, when my oldest was six months, I did alot of scrapbooking, now with two of them, I don't have the time as much, but i love what i did for the older one, I feel bad taht the younger one's scrap book isn't as detailed, but at least he has one! (:

I have been staying home with my son every since he was born. He is now nine months old. It ws really hard for me in the beginning because I was so use to working all the time. Now I work at home with my home business. That takes up most of my time. Since I am no longer working outside of the home I had to find something that was still going to bring me some income. I do that and also do some surveys online sometimes. But as you know my baby keeps me busy most of the day. Of course you always need a break sometimes so every once in awhile I will get to meet up with my friends and have his daddy babysit for me.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 month old. We go for lots of walks. We live in town, so I can walk to a small park in about 3 minutes, if I go to the really nice park in town it takes about a half an hour. Which is great, it's great exercise and the kids love it. Of course your six month old won't really be playing at the park. (: we only have one car, so I walk everywhere. If I don't want to go out,I come online (here) or invite friends over. I remember when my oldest was that age, we had play dates once a week with some friends.. it was great. The kids played with one another and I got adult conversation. Where I live now, I still don't really know anyone, and I need to just work up the nerve and meet some friends, as we'll probably be here for awhile. (: Go to the library, a lot of them have story times for younger children, and it will help you meet parents with children the same age as your own. You just have to decide to get out and do something, otherwise you'll end up bored stiff. Kids are fun, but sometimes it does get monotonous.

I find that being a home maker is a 24 hour kind of job especially if you have children to look after. Household chores are neverending unless you are the type who can close an eye to certain things. Going out to buy groceries, cooking, cleaning the house, washing and ironing clothes, sending the kids to school and picking them up from school....the list is endless. I normally need to have an afternoon nap to perk myself up.

Now that I have two children, I find it hard to remember having to find things to do to fill the time. When my oldest was four months old I started his scrapbook. There is only so much housework you can find to do. I also liked to read, and take the baby for walks. This is so much easier when they can't walk by themselves:). Enjoy this time, when another one comes along there is no end to the housework.

Between a 3yr old and a 3 month old I stay pretty busy just with them. Morning time it is breakfast and then showers. I get dressed and do not stay in my pjs...makes me feel like a human andn two I know it upsets my husband to think I am lounging around in pjs all day. Usually through out the day I am feeding the baby, getting baby down for naps. Afternoon time we usually go do something either outside or go drive somewhere. Or I will do projects with the 3 yr old. I sometimes will cut shapes out of construction paper and have her glue them to another paper and say them as we go. Or I get a flat cookie sheet out and spray shaving cream on it and let her draw in the shaving cream. Little preschool things like that. After dinner which is around 5pm we will go take the dog for a walk around the neighborhood.

To me housework is a never ending chore. Besides that, I love to surf the net to check and send my e-mails, read the news on the net, pay my bills on the net and etc. Plus I have 2 school going children which I sent and pick them up. Go groceries shopping. Cook for both lunch and dinners as I prefer home cooked meals. Do some gardening and at times, read books and magazines. I'll fill myself up the whole day so that I don't get jaded. :

I just stay busy. I get up and have to start on breakfast. I make sure to always shower and dress and put on makeup daily (I'm compulsive about that, it makes me feel better). I play games with my son for an hour or so...memory, hungry hippo, etc., then it's lunch time. We play our computer games together, he has games that he likes to play (he's 4). He helps me clean house, as good as a 4 year old can. We run around the neighborhood, go to parks and playgrounds. When he's occupied or playing, I take that as me time and read books, listen to music or just meditate. Also, I am active in a few support sites on the computer and I check them daily, sometimes 2 or 3 times. I just stay busy. When I feel I am getting bored, I start doing something, go visit a friend, go to the store, or just window shop..it helps a lot.
