$370 MILLION today, Do you play?

Okay I rarely buy lotto tickets as I know the odds of winning are next to impossible. I'm a fairly lucky person at times though and on occasion I do participate. Today is one of those times as our MEGA MILLIONS LOTTO is currently at $370 MILLION Dollars. It's just to much to pass up a try. I know that their are many people in this state spending more money than they can afford and I don't understand that concept. A few dollars that you can afford to loose is more than enough. It only takes one ticket to win. When it gets pretty high I generally go out and buy $5 to $20 just depending on how I feel. Do you buy lotto, lottery, scratchers on a regular basis or do you only buy them when it gets pretty high up there? Do you buy them from the same retailer or do you pick different ones? Do you think that it matters at all where the ticket is purchased?

Me and my one coworker usually play together when the Powerball gets pretty high but we usually buy no more than three to five tickets at the most since we do not want to blow our money and paychecks on lotto tickets. The most that I have won so far is $3 and the Powerball is right now about $120 million. I generally have no luck whatsoever but hey, it only takes one ticket and someone will have to win. I rather have one in a billion chance to win than zero in a billion chance.

kgwat, very well said, you can't win if you don't play!! I never buy more than I can afford to loose, meaning $5 to $20 at a time, and less than $100 a year is spent on this for me.

You can't win if you don't play. You have to try your luck once in a while. Chances are you may win.

Well Hello to another Buckeye! LOL your probably wondering how i know this because i know our lotto is 370 million dollars and i bought myself 5 dollars worth of tickets yesterday before work. Thats all i spent because i never win, and im sure luck wont smile on me this time either so all i can do is take my 5 bucks worth and maybe ill get lucky this time and win a little something i know it wont be the whole thing. LOL maybe we will all get luck and it will roll again and be ever bigger for the next drawing. Good luck to all the people who have bought a ticket for the Ohio Mega Lotto.

I got $20 in quick-pick tickets for the mega milions lotto- "Hey, you never know". It is fun to think that you could win and be rich. I would be happy with $1 million- someone else could even win the rest! I won't be greedy. I don't usually buy lottery tickets or scratch offs, but it seems silly not to try for the huge jackpots. Even though there is even less of a chance to win with so many people buying tickets, it just seems to be more exciting. I know too many people who waste an unbelievable amount of money on lottery tickets and scratch offs. It amazes me the number of people who are on welfare who buy scratch offs every single day.

I don't usually buy lottery tickets but when the jackpot get to this kind of level it's hard not to. I will probably pick up 20 quick picks and see if I have any luck...not holding my breath though...LOL

I usually don't play much of the lottery any more because I tend to lose more than I ever win. I know the lottery is way up there in the millions and I would love to have just a little of it too LOL. I don't have too much luck when it comes to winning, especially money. I may have my husband go out and buy one ticket with out special numbers on it this evening from a little Marathon store across the street from us. We usually buy all of our tickets there when we get them. I wouldn't mind splitting it with a bunch of people. I would just like to have some it. I would just love to feel good and say I won something for once. I don't think it really matters where we purchase our tickets. We are either going to win or lose with the numbers we have chosen to play.

I rarely win anything from the lotto it's been years since I won more than $5 and I've never one more than $75. but I figure I can't win if I don't play, so every now and then can't hurt. :)

We usually buy a lotto ticket when it's a rollover and it gets pretty high. We figure that we have more chance of winning just by playing, as opposed to just dreaming. I don't think it matters where the ticket is purchased. People win from everywhere. We usually buy $10 worth, never more than that. It's what we can afford comfortably. We've never won anything big, but we have fun trying and hey, we can always hope right? lol I honestly don't know what I'd do if we won. It's something that I just cannot comprehend at all. I do know however that my Wedding would be even bigger than it's already threatening to be and I'd be paying for my entire family to come out from the UK for it lol. That would be my dream I think.

It's a toss up! - lottery balls
I occassionally buy scratch off tickets from the grocery store if I'm in the mood to stop and I have a few singles on me. The most I've ever won was $20 and I thought that was nice. Yesterday my significant other bought a lottery ticket because the pot was up to $355 million. He said they were broadcasting the numbers from Times Square at eleven and that he would call me if you won. Alas, I did not receive a phone call.::sigh:: Is it the New York lotto you are referring to? That's what he played last night.

Oh, okay. That's a huge sum of money, even with all the taxes taken out. I don't think money solves everything, but it would sure help out alot lol. Have a good day!

I pretty much buy lottery tickets on an ongoing basis. I tend not to spend more than $25 a month although I usually have some $40 worth of tickets for the month as I always have some winners. (never any really big ones, but enough that they pay for the next round of tickets or most of what my tickets come up to.) I do not think it matters where you get your tickets unless you do only quick picks and the algorythms are skewed on the computer that is picking your numbers. On my current set of tickets (I buy for a month at a time of drawings) I have one that I will be interested in finding out how much of a pay out is on it as one of the tickets says 1 in 310 people hit this paramutual. (it won't be a lot, but just might pay for the whole of my next ticket buy in.)

i sometimes buy scratchies but my luck isnt so great, i have bought a few lotto tickets but no luck, my mum buys a lotto ticket once a week has won some but not much. but its only a couple of dollars so she tries. i actually think it does matter where you purchase the tickets because one agency i got things from before and i havent heard anyone winning from there, but a man i knew got one ticket from one place and then went and got from another place for same draw and one, and i heardheaps people winning from the same place he has won.

I am an avid player of the lottery of all types here in Minnesota. I play the same 5 sets of numbers for Powerball 2 times a week and have done this for a few years. I've yet to hit anyhing big though. I have won $7 many mnay times though. I also buy scratch tickets often. I usually end up spending around $20 to $50 per week. I have won large amounts in those. I can recall winning $1000 two times & $3000 once. I've won many $100 & $50 tickets also. I've entered local contests here also. One time I won 100 scratch tickets. Yes, 100. After the wife & I scratched them all we won a total of $39. HAHA! The tickets were one stack all in numerical sequence. I've had people tell me I'm so lucky with the instant tickets but they don't realize that if they spend as much as I do you're bound to hit some nice winners. That's my tale of Lottery playing. Good luck and happy scratching. HAHAHA. Happy postings from Grandpa Bob.

Hello Grandpa Bob, Congratulations on your luck. I have better luck gambling, last year I won 10k, that's the most I've ever won at one time. I don't play all that often but sometimes get on a streak, which is what's been going on as of late. I bout some scratchers a couple of weeks ago and cashed in double what I bout and the left over I took and bout more tickets, like 9 tickets, and have been playing on those for the last 10 days. Not bad. The most that I have won on a scratcher is $250, but have done that several times. I rarely by lotto tickets as I just don't think about it until it gets this high and then all the people talking about it I'm reminded to get a ticket. I now have $20 worth of tickets and figure that's more than enough to through away. :) Hoping lady luck is smiling down on me for a little share. :)

I really don't buy them very often. Maybe the odd scratch ticket but I don't usually play the lotto. What gets me though is when it's like 100 million everybody here runs out to get a ticket. Why?? Wouldn't you play and be content if you won 2 million??? So I don't get why a higher jackpot gets people to play. If they want a chance at winning they should play all the time no matter what the jackpot amount is.

I am not much of a lottery player. I know chances of winning is close to impossible and it really takes LUCK to win one and I feel, well reality is im not really that kind of a lucky person when it comes to this kinds of games. Ever since I havent win in games of luck, even consolation prizes. but nevertheless, when ever I pass and I see those big amounts of prizes, there are times I am still tempted to buy ticket. =)

Nope, won't buy 'em. This is a game play by the poor and people who are focused on lack. It is a fact that over 90 % of million $$ lotto winners end up broke in a few years after winning. In 2002, a guy won 300 million, took a lump sum payout of $140 million and is now broke and in debt. It is sad when so many depend on the lotto to get rich when all it is pertains to mindset. There are thousands of ways to get rich that have a much higher probability. The problem is, most people are lazy, give up too easily and hope that luck will make them rich and happy. Funny thing, if you can't appreciate one dollar, you will never be able to handle 370 million of them. The vast majority of people playing the lotto are ill prepared to deal with winning.

I only purchase scratch tickets if I have alot of saved up money, and even then it's only 2 or 4 dollars on them. As for the lottery tickets, only when the prize amount is large. I buy an insta pik, which chooses numbers for you, and one ticket with my own personal numbers on it.

Yes, I heard this news on tv. It is such a sensation. Of course, I cannot participate in this one considering the proximity. However, I wish you well and the best of luck. May you get that $370 million dollars. I will be very happy for you if you will make it to the win. We have this lotto thing in our country, too. I never particpated. I never got lucky in something like this, ever.

I sometimes play when it's really high. This time I did not. I heard this morning on the radio that someone won and the jackpot is now only a pathetic 12 million again. I guess I'll have to settle for that.
