As far as I know I have yet to recieve the ever dreaded negative (-) rating. As my 10 Star still reads 99/100. My curiosity question is as follows...Is there any way one can search his own page our main page of myLot to find such information? Not the name of the member but mainly what discussion got the negative rating? I'm curious if this function is at all available to us members. I really don't care to know myself but have had others ask & I couldn't answer them. All responses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Happy postings from Grandpa Bob

There is no such function Grandpa and I think for good reasons. Sometimes I think maybe we should have been allowed to know which ones got a negative but again maybe it will be questionable if it were known. I was on a 99 from the time the star rating was introduced and I don't ever remember seeing anyone with a 100.lol Now my rating has dropped to a 95 and I hope it gets back up soon.

Hoping No Negatives Come This Way! - Just trying my best.
It would be helpful to members so we could change our posts etc so as not to get a negative. But..... Happy Postings from Grandpa Bob!

It would be interesting but I don't believe it's possible. As for me, I posted some responses to so-to-say 'delicate' subjects. I guess by the reaction of another responder, that my negative ratings came from there. But unfortunately I can never know, perhaps I just have an enemy. Anyway, I don't worry about it too much.

I have never figured this out. I have a 10, and I don't know if I have ever received a negative. You do a good job, Grandpa Bob, so just keep on the way you are.

I wish we could know that too. I was up high and then i dropped a few marks but then i am way above where i was when i first hit 100 posts and i dont know what discussions i got the negative marks on.Like you said not who gave me the mark but where and what did i say that someone didnt like. I lost a friend that all of a sudden wont readd me to their friends and im assuming its from something i said they didnt like. But i have so many friends now that i wont miss that one person.Congrats again on hitting that 500 mark :)

I have no idea either, this is a good post though. You never know who hit you with a negative just because they don't agree with what you said. It is so unfair...Actually, I made a suggestion to Mylot/Moderator, the other day, hopefully, they would take it into consideration... My suggestion was before someone mark you negative, they have to give a valid reason before it will go through. I think that would stop alot of unwanted negative responses...

I sometimes will state in my response what I feel especially when I disagree. But not a negative response. Once is all I've done that so far that I can recall. LOL HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!!

Hi there grandpa bob! Again, excuse my ignorance..but how will I be able to check the number of people who have given me a positive rating or I assume it's in percentage already (99/100)? Thanks! Going back to your question, I too would like to know the same thing since I've been answering threads honestly and in the best of my ability.

I also want to know on what particular discussions I got a negative rating. I don't care who posted it, just the discussion itself. I hope we have a section for discussions where we got a negative rating on our home page.

In Yahoo.com, one can come to know the rating of his particular answer by the originator and the other participants in the discussion. Like myLot, you can not rate your discussion/answer. Yahoo has a better clarify in this aspect. Getting one's ratings done by others helps to improve the quality. Everything has to be transparent.

As far as I'm aware, there is no function on Mylot that allows us to see who gave us a negative rating. I think thats a good thing to be honest. Most people don't like being rated Negative, especially when all they've done is share their views and opinions. Unfortunately there are a few people on Mylot who will rate negative if your opinion differs from theirs, or you say what they don't want to hear - mainly the truth. I know I've been rated negative before now and quite honestly, I don't care. I'm not here to worry what other people think of my opinion and views.

I dont even kno if Ive gotten a negative rating before, but I hope not. I dont give anyone a negative rating unless what they say is degrading, or prejudice against anyone.

There is no way to do this. myLot explicitly mentioned that they don't want you to know if a post was negatively or positively marked. And you are one lucky and popular fellow to get 99/100! ;-) It however doesn't mean you have never received a negative rating. If you get 10 pluses and 2 minuses today, I doubt your rating would drop significantly. Just my guess. ;-)

I very much doubt if this is available. You will notice that the word "rated" appears next to a discussion or reponse that you have rated, so obviously the display is unique to yourself because other members will not have rated it. This means that the page will not even display whether anyone has rated you at all, let alone whether you have been rated negative.

If you will read the FAQ link in the mylot you will find the following information displayed. I am just copy pasting this for you over here just for convienence but you should read it thoroughly in detail. The link is..... http://www.mylot.com/o/faq.aspx Which reads as below.... " Will I be able to see what ratings have been given to my individual topics, responses, and comments? No, this information will not be displayed. We feel this is necessary to maintain the objectiveness of the DRS. We have no plans to make this information available in the future. " I think this clarifies your doubt.

Now I could understand why you hold a star with reputation as "10". Because, with my experience, very few users like you attend discussion started and resolve them with the best response awards to the users who have responded. Actually when responses exceed to thirty and forty, seldom are read by the d/starting user. My friend you are definitly special in your work under mylot. I shall always see that I can participate in your discussion in future. I shall be happy to see you in my discussions started, provided you feel them worth to respod. Thank you and wish you all the best.

I don't know the answer either, though I'm pretty sure you can't find out, as this could lead to so much bad feeling, and flame wars on MyLot. My star has not altered for some considerable time now, though shortly after I joined here I dropped from a 10 to a 9, after postng in a discussion about religion........................obviously my comments were not acceptable to some people:-) But since it went back up again, it doesn't seem to alter one way or the other. Cheers.

i don't think there's anyway one could know about who gave or which one of his replies got a negative rating. i think that would have been a pretty troublemaking if there was something like that!!lol i haven't found my star rating going down yet but i think some person who didn't agree with someone's reply or didn't like his answer maybe gives that(an unpreferable thing,IMO).
