Are cell phones harmful to health?

Recently, I read another article that talked about the radio and electro-magnetic fields (EMF's) associated with cell phones being potentially harmful to brain tissue, primarily with frequent and prolonged usage. If this is true, is anyone paying attention? What about these new "ear-phone" devices? Aren't those being bombarded with some kind of "beam" from the cell-towers all the time? Is THAT a good thing? Hmmmmmm..........I wonder.
