What are your views of beauty pageants?

I have watched a number of beauty pageants on television each year. Basically, the modus operandi of each of them is the same. The contestants parading in different costumes i.e. national dress, swimwear, dining attire, etc. Then they would be taken for photo shoots all over the place. They have to dance pretty well. Finally, they have to give their views on some topics. Of all of it, I like to listen to how they expressed their views on the topic and what they would want to do about it. That is if they are crowned the beauty queen. What are your opinions on beauty contest. Do you have any favourite ones?
