Fish balls, squidballs, dimsum, barbecues, siomai etc. taste good... and a lil appealing to our appetites. Here in the Philippines most of that food can be found on the street, meaning the vendor has this movable cooking equipment roaming to the road to sell this stuff. you have these cooked right in front of you. Ever tasted? Would you go for it? Whats your thoughta bout these foods?

Most of the things you all have mentioned sound pretty disgusting to me! But I'm not from the PHilippines, so it's great for you! :) We have occasional street vendors in large cities here in the US. I only get one every few years, but a nice fresh hotdog or italian sausage is always good.

Never even heard of half the food listed. I have bought hot dogs and burgers from street venodor. One time I bought a slab of ribs from one and man do I wish I could find that guy again becasue they were some of the best ribs I ever had. I think the commercialised street vendors are just like a chain resturant. but you get the authentic type and most times you get some good stuff.

Over here in India, we have lots of delicious items to eat from the street.. And I often go for them coz they r very cheap as well.. But I don't compromise on the quality.. The vendors even don't.. So its kinda win-win situation for all.. Cheap and quality food just alongside the street..

Am currently in Cebu, Philippines, and believe me I was kinda surprised by the variety their street food has to offer. As in literally variety! Rice was bundled up into pyramid like shapes called "puso", and there were spring rolls, tempura, and other typical street items on the stick that were placed on plastic wares and were literally on the street. Then you'd be given this plastic and you'd have to eat with your hands. I enjoyed watching the locals do it. Am going to try it once I get the guts to do so...hehe...Am kinda picky when it comes to street food, you see, am a microbiologist, and i tried "isaw" once and I ended up getting diarrhea...lol

I never bought any of those you mentioned inmy entire life and probably never will. They are most of the time not prepared properly by the vendors. It would be better if you can prepare cook them yourself. That way you are assured that the food you are eating are prepared properly. I cannot compromised my health with those food even though they are affordable.

I think it's an interesting experience - we don't have a lot of foods on the street around here, just hot dog vendor carts. When you go the fair, there are a lot of vendors, but then it's more like a stand than an actual cart.

Herein India also, there's a variety of food that u can find on the streets. I hav tried many of them. But of late, our Govt. has banned street food entirely, making my stomach go mad. I used to love all the food that i ate over thr. The mix of spices, that yummy feeling, ummmmmmm... I would rather go out and hav one for myself. There are still sm stalls left in my colony, Gud for me...

When I was younger ihad an experince that i wont forget, after eating street food , i got itchy all over and i rushed to the doctor, he gave me an anti histamine, good and i was relieved. It took so long for me avoiding it. I visited lots of countries like japan, taiwan, sigapore, us, australia and everywhere i go this street food is found everywhere. Little by little, i tried and its okay, they are good and enjoyable.

Yup, Sometimes i do go for it. Actually sometimes street food is tastier than food at restaurants. But got to see if they place is clean or not. I think once in while is fine to eat. In India i used to eat Kebabs and other Indian Snacks on streets. I Like Dimsum but i did not find anyone on street yet.

From time to time it is good to eat street food. Kind of exotic like balot, penoy, grilled barbeque, isaw (intestine), gizard, liver/blood, adidas (chicken feet), kwek-kwek, toknene, fishball, squidball, kikiam, scramble, dirty ice cream, bopis, and more. But reminder, be careful to the places you eat.

while visiting in Mexico we stopped at a street vendor for a meat sandwich they called "Loncha" (I may have the spelling wrong) it was very good. Then we had a roasted ear of hominy corn, which we did not care for, but at the time we were unfamiliar with the taste of hominy and were expecting that cob to taste like sweet corn. The locals put mayo on it, we did not, maybe that would have been tastier. We have sense become fans of hominy.
