I am diabetic and I have neurapathy. It drives me crazy. I can't sleep at night cause it feels like my feet are burning. Does anyone else have this problem or any ideas on something to ease the pain?

With my MS, I have neuropathy, also. I have taken Nurontin and Tegretol. People swear by the Nurontin. I swore by the Tegretol. But there is a new medicine that supposedly works better, Lyrica. Ask your doctor about this medicine. See what he says.

My daughter takes Lyrica and it really is a god send for her! She took Neurontin for about 4 months and the side effects were awful (severe mood changes, pain increasing over time, weight gain...the list didn't end...she had them all). She now takes Lyrica (200-250 mg daily) and it does a great job at controlling her pain without all the bad side effects! She is 10 years old and was diagnosed with a small nerve peripheral neuropathy with muscle contractions of no known origin! But...we would definately recommend the Lyrica over Neurontin (Gabapentin)!!! I hope it helps others as much as it has her! Ange

My daughter has a disease called Erythromelalgia...which sounds similar to your symptoms...she was checked for a number of things including diabetes (as Erythromelalgia can be caused by a number of diseases). You might explore this disease to see if it fits! We currently take her to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota (we are in AZ) as they seem to have the best help we've been able to find (she is also only 3 years old)! Motrin, asprin and Lidocain creme are her regime right now but there are other treatments available for adults! I wish you the best of luck and am sorry for your pain! Ange

My sister suffered terribly with what they call neurapathy. Her feet did the same thing, burn. It did not seem to bother her until she was stretched out in her bed and ready to go to sleep. They gave her Elavil, and that pretty much helped her fall asleep despite the condition. She would also if having a bad night get up and take a very hot bath, sometimes that seemed to ease the sensations. Good luck with it I hope you can find some relief my heart goes out to you.
