Which Was The First WEBSITE You Visited???

When you were new to internet. You must not have known many sites except yahoo, google and homtail etc. When I was new I didn't knew any other site except yahoo, google and hotmail, infact I wasn't even that much used to internet. I wanted to leave this dumb bolted doors place, back then.
But then my freinds introduced me to new sites and Internet got user-freindly to me. Now, I love internet.
I like it, and the website I visited was YAHOO.

Actually when i was new to internet thing atleast 3 yrs ago i knew a Site other than yahoo tht was (www.craigdavid.com)
i was a gr8 fan of craig david Sooo i used to Visit tht site .
after tht i visited to Gorillaz.com Sooo it went liked tht but when one day i joined yahoo / msn hotmail i started makin more friends and got lots and lots of more new sites //...
and now after 1.5 yrs i was good in this internet thingy ....
now i visited bout 5 % of internet world :) more to gooo as u know internet is very HUGE large unlimited .................................................................................

When I was really new to internet a few years ago, one of my friends took me to an internet cafe and introduced me something called electronic mail. I did not understand what email is all about. I was wondering how a mail could go to some other parts of the world and can appear ina different computee. The first web page opened was USA.net for openeing an email account. I discontinues using that email as they put a premium on usage.

I introduced many of my freinds to internet in the same way as your freind introduced you. Most of them were unaware of the word " internet", back then.

Thats a really good question and to be honest I can't remember. I first got the internet around 8 years ago. I imagine it would have been a search engine like yahoo as I would have had no idea where to start.

Thank you for replying and making me think that it maybe my first quality post. Yes, I too tried internet back in about 2000/01. And I couldn't remember much that myself but I know it was yahoo cause I think I didn't knew about any site back then.

The very first time I experienced the Internet and the World Wide Web was in 1997, and I was in middle school by then. I was in a computer class, and we were shown how to surf and view the internet. I still remember it like it was yesterday. The smell of coffee, the handshake modem sounds, the Gateway 2000 computers, all of it. After the tutorial, I went to the very first site, www.abc.com, and it was when ABC's TGIF segment on Fridays at that time was showing Family Matters. That's where I went to, to find any info on that show.

When I had a session on Internet for the First ever time, I visited www.123india.com But I wont say that I was the one to visit the site because my elder brother was operating the computer and I was just looking as what a miracle it was.
Later on when I started surfing internet of my own, I first of all accessed these sites:

www.rediff.com
www.yahoo.com

Well 123india is quite famous in india, I heared it from a freind of mine in india. About rediff, you were quite lucky because yahoo is, what I think, is, the breeding ground for surfers. :P

The first website I had been to is Yahoo! and MSN, when I first was introduced to it by my dad, I only used it for searching out some data for my projects. It was only when I was 12 plus, had someone told me abt the wonders of the email and how to get one myself.
Now, I use the net for a whole load of stuffs.

aCTUALLY, I VISITED FIRST THE YAHOO, WHEN I BROWSE A COMPUTER. YOU KNOW WHEN I ENTER THIS SITE FIRST IM IGNORANT BECAUSE OF WHAT I SEE. WHEN I KNOW HOW TO USED THE SITE, I TYPE A YAHOO ID FOR MY CHATTING PURPOSES. GOD BLESS!!!!!

It was Yahoo for me too. And I was so much like you when I first started using the internet. I just heard from my friends that internet is a really useful tool so I got curious and started surfing. Eventually I got hooked and up to this day I go online almost everyday.

I started with hotmail, my cousin from the states wanted me to have an email account so that it would be easier for us to to communicate. I didn't know what to do then that I just asked the attendant to help me out.

um i opend wwe as far as i remember probably to chek wat was goin on as shanemcman had bought wcw so wwe wasn on star sportss my curiosity led me to go on my aunts comp and open wwe.com and chek wat was happenin

Years have come, I do not remember exactly, but at the epoch I liked chat and remind me of mine before Italian chat, LOVECORNER, was awakes up to the night 3 4, now he does not exist any more, that is he is there but he always empties, but I do not like chat any more too much boys young, by now am not a girlie any more.

When I first opened my email id in the internet class, it was yahoo id. Hence that was the website I visited first. Slowly when I started asking people and visiting sites, it increased and now computer and internet have become part of my life.

yup usa.net was the first web site i have visited but after that i stared to surf using the gmil and got exposed to the web
