lifting of manhole lids off of storm and sewer lines.

i am looking for the standard operating procedure for lifting off of manhole covers from storm and wastewater lines

oh do tell why are you wanting to lift manhole covers,something not very good comes to my mind.

having worked in a wastewater treatment plant, you should know Chris !!! However if you've left, and handed back your tools, metal bar with a hook at one end so you can use it as a lever, by inserting a brick or other strong fulcrum, to raise the cover, yu then put something t wedge the cover open, then with help lift off.....job done Chris

Don't you think you should direct this question to the engineering department of any city that has storm sewers and wastewater. Mylot is a discussion forum and I am not sure sure you would get a lot of qualified expert answers.
