Still no one has claimed the puppy.

It's only been one day since I found him, but I called an animal shelter early this morning to ask if anyone had reported him lost, leaving my name and number. No one has called, but he loves people, so he must have an owner who takes good care of him.

Sometimes the organisations you contact don't do a very good job. We got a dog a couple of years ago and shortly after we got the dog it broke through on it's running leash and dug under the fence. We contacted all of the local animal organisations and left our name and contact details. Nothing happened, so my husband decided to go looking and found our dog at the lost dogs home, so he took her home. She had been there for over a week, but then had a heart attack as a result of the aneasthetic dart they had used to capture her.

I'm glad your husband found her. Is she okay? Vets are pretty good at treating heart attacks. Maybe tomorrow this little guy's owner will come and find him.

That's so sad. I'm not trying to say dogs are replaceable, but have you found another? Sometimes pets manage to find people who are in need becuse they've just lost one.

That is so sad. I hope that you find him a great home if you don't find the owner. I know that my whole world would be turned upside down if I lost my dog. You should take him to the shelter to see if he has one of those ID chips in him. Good luck!

That's a good idea. I'll do that tomorrow. If he has an ID chip it kind of explains his not having a collar.
