I plan on nursing my son until he is one yr old. He is now nine months. The only thing that I am concerned with is that he likes to fall aslep when he nurses. That is reall the only way that I can get him to sleep and I'm afraid when I stop nursing him that I will have a really hard time getting him to sleep. I have tried taking him off and putting him down but eh just gets really upset. Right now the nursing to sleep is working great but I know later on it will become a disaster. Do any other moms do this? Do you have any suggestion? What worked for you?

My son is turning two nyears old next month and he's still nursing for comfort as well as to make himself fall asleep. I also regretted letting him nurse himself to sleep It's really difficult to break this habit. I'm still working on it and there are some night that he will fall asllep without nursing but he still wakes up a few times in the night. Sigh!

I am a nursing mom three times over. And am currently nursing my third and last child. He uesed to do the same thing (he's three months old). I had to make him fall asleep on his own. After he ate i would put him in his crib and let him cry. I hated doing it but it's heavan now. He soothes himself to sleep. Doesn't even cry when I lay him down. Now i have the problem of him Cooing and talking when i'm trying to sleep. LOL!

Lucky for you. I wish I would have done that when my son was alot younger. I guess being a first time mom I just cant stand to see him cry. I got myself in trouble.

well, my son is already six years old.i felt exhausted from he was born till he was one year old.and i have the same problems as you.but everything will be ok as time goes on, when you son gets older, you can let him to some soft music to let him fell asleep.then when he can understand what you say,you can tell stories.and as he gets older,he will wakes up less and less times one night.
