The durian is known as the king of fruits. Thorny on the outside, its flesh is yellow, pungent and can taste bitter or sweet. It's an acquired taste, you either hate it or love it. I love it. Particularly the D24 type from Malaysia. Please share your experiences with this fruit.

I like Durian. Actually it was my mom who had bad experience with Durian. It was the Durian season, and my family bought 4 durians. My mother eat a lot, more than any my family member. then she suddenly felt sick, her temperature raised and she felt a headache. She got fever. But it's not too long. Abut 2 hours of sleep she's back to normal. In Indonesia we called that situation "mendhem" or translated as drunk ! LOL

Almost everyone is in the extreme, either hate or love durians. I am the weird one who is actually neutral :D I do not crave durians, but if I see my friends eating, I will join in. Now there are too many durian sellers in Singapore, they even have to go door to door selling. Poor vendors.

I love durian and eating them is a great experience to me. when i was in Ssarawak, i find that when the durian season comes i will see some small hill of durian at the market and we can even buy the durian with a very cheap price - which can be up to .0125$ (0.50 RM).

Some durians are yellow and some are pale yellow. I love those from Thailand because they are more yellow. My grandfather used to be really good at choosing durians just by smelling it. Normally, if my dad buys durians, not all are great. My grandfather will buy all good durians. He sells vegetables and I wonder how he get that special nose. Pity, he left us when I was 11.
