My firewall is pissing me off

Ok, so I updated ZoneAlarm a few weeks ago, and basically it's been pissing me off. For some reason, there's some setting that messes with Firefox so it will constantly display dead images and time out when trying to load web pages. This can usually be fixed by just hitting refresh, but it's still a pain in the head. My questions are this:1) Is there some setting I can turn off to stop this, and if not... 2) Can you recommend another firewall that isn't retarded?
