Work on your typing and earn more....How is your typing?

People wonder how some on mylot can do so many posts and yet they cannot do it themselves. I think one of the keys is being able to type better. Practice learning the keys on the keyboard without looking at them and type by touch. I learned to do that way back in high school and since being on mylot it is all coming back, and it sure makes typing responses much faster and therefore, more profitable. How is your typing? Do you feel it is holding you back? Are you a really good typist?

I think I am just an average typist. That's why I was talking about find a speech to voice recognition program to help me type here. It's hard to change your typing habit after so many years. :P

Yes. I had formal typing classes from highschool and college. Two years on the typewriter and one semester on the computer keyboard. After all that vigorous training, I can type with my eyes closed with the right fingers on the right keys. You can do that also! You could use Typing Tutor and discipline yourself to practice typing using the right fingers for the right keys.

you are right. That is the most efficient way to type and also the way I type now.

It is not the speed of the typing but finding the right discussions to reply to and comment on. I have to read more than I type to find the topic that interests me so that I can share my knowledge and respond to those discussions. My two fingers are happy in knowing where the right keys are to enable me to be as quick as they can in hitting the right keys.

You are certainly right about the content. And I don't respond to a topic unless I can add to it. I do not do 5 word answers or even 3 line answers to any topic. It is always more substantial. However, I believe if you are here to make some extra money, like most people are, you want to be as productive as possible. Without referrals, I have discovered that the only way you will ever make over 2 dollars in a day is to have between 75-100 good, acceptable posts. Both Saturday and Sunday I tried to test my theory out. On both days I did 100 posts exactly.. On Saturday(I have no referrals)I was credited with $2.51. On Sunday, I was credited with $2.46. On Saturday I submitted 6 pictures and on Sunday, the maximum they would allow. I think around 20. Then a note said I had reached the maximum allowed for the day(I assume). I wanted to see if more pictures with exactly the same amount of good posts would make a difference. Apparently not, as the payouts were pretty well the same. I also began at least 12 discussions both days. So, take from that what you will. I just know that if I do not type like Hell for several hours(with good logical responses)I will never earn over $2.00 per day unless I submit somewhere around, or over 75 posts... I hope this info helps some people out there.......

My goodness that is alot of posts just for $2.00. I think I will have to look at getting broadband, because the thing that is holding me back from posting more is the slowness of the mylot pages loading. Goodbye to dial up hello broadband. My typing speed is just fine.

It is my major subject. Office management, we were trained keyboarding without looking on the keyboard, under time pressure. I took typing class for 4 consecutive semester during college. Keyboarding 1 2 3 and 4. It helps me alot in doing my job. I can easily encode without looking onto my keyboard.

I feel I am good at typing. I don't have to look at the keyboard to type. If there is anyone that needs to learn better to type I can suggest a free program. Go to http://www.download.com search for Bruce Typing Tutor, the program that comes up is offered for free and comes with no spyware. It is a wonderful way to learn how to type. Have a nice day. I have marked many people for best response who I know are struggling with their English, but respond from their hearts. You will get some "best responses" soon enough. Just keep at it...

I think I am alright at typing. Sometimes I get the letters round the wrong way but the person who started thie discussion should take it as a compliment because it means that I was passionate about what I was typing. I think if you have been at myLot for nay length of time then you will be a good typer. I can type with most of my fingers being used which I think is a big achievement considering I have had no formal training./

Have you used one of these before? - Have you used a manual typewriter before? Do you even know what one looks like? I learnt to type on a machine like this!
I type about 55-60wpm as I worked as a secretary many years ago. I learnt to touch type in my teens and basically I type without looking at my keyboard. I did an evening course which last about 12 weeks and we learnt on these old manual typewriters which were really hard work and had the keys covered by coloured tabs, every alternate row was covered in red tabs and the others were covered with yellow tabs and we had to look up at this screen at the front of the classroom and type stuff like “asdfg” and “;lkjh” continuously – it was really monotonous but it did the trick! I increased my speed over the years as when I passed that typing course my speed was only 25wpm which was the speed required to pass the exam. Obviously when you use a computer keyboard it’s much quicker than using a manual typewriter and you have the added advantage of not having to press Enter (what used to be known as “carriage return”) at the end of each line. My how times have moved on!

That looks like what I learned on 40 or so years ago in high school! We made fun of it when we were the first all male class in our school's history to take typing classes. As it turns out, it was the best thing I ever learned in high school. Especially considering that back then, there was no such thing as personal computers and we thought it was all a waste of time. thank you for your "best response."

My typing is really ok but i have not learnt typing as such. I learn it using the online web sites (no cost). I still can type without seeing the keyboard but when i see the keyboard i type more faster. I went for a interview where they had typing test and i got thru in that.

I think my typing is above average. I can type without looking at the keyboard. But some of the keys I am not familiarize with it. But overall, I think my typing is quite fast. hehe. I learn it all by chatting online since first year in my university. I don't have a computer last time in my hometown. So I onli bought myself a computer when i came to study at university. Since then I been chatting online and it helps me to improve my typing.

Yes I am a really good typist and can type at 100 words an hour on a keyboard. It is slower on an old fashioned typewriter though. I never look at the words I am typing because that is how I was taught in high school as well.

I think you are right. I had lessons in school ( i think that was touch) but i fell behind because of terrible eyesight. As of now i type pretty fast, i look at the keyboard, yes, and i use only one hand, yes, but i think my speed is ok. I am used to type in both chats and forums, so i dont think im falling behind in any way other places. My husband uses both indexfingers. He types slow.

very rightly said, earning in mylot totaly depends on the typing speed.simply because for most of us our thought is faster than our typing speed.once we try to bridge this gap than our earning in mylot increases dramtically.then we will not mind spending the time required to get the desired amount.moreover its fun answering the questions but lots of labour in typing.

When you have to look at the keyboard, it does slow you down. If you know where the keys are you can go alot faster. There are many programs that are made for people wanting to learn how to type, or improve their typing. I would recommend anybody wanting to type faster to invest in one of those programs. They are fairly cheap.

Luckily I took typing class in high school. Although I hated at the time, it really was beneficial in many aspects of my life.
