How would you rate southern africa??

hey im from south africa and am curious to hear how other people, foreigners to my country percieve it??? would you say we are a third world country??? does the international news portray our country to be underdeveloped???povertised????or "Developing"??? oh and do some of you folks still believe than in southern africa lions and tigers and other wildlife roam around freely????hehe honestys always appreciated ;)
