If you were given the opportunity to LIVE forever, being immortal and NEVER die, you would NEVER grow old and you would maintain all your faculties. Death wouldn't EXIST for you. BUT... You would HAVE to give up EVERYTHING, your house, your partner, your money and START again with NOTHING! Would you do it, please explain why!

NO...I would not. Giving up personal belonging would not upset me too much...house, car, etc. But the other personal items that have no monetary value to others, I would have a problem with. My childrens' baby pictures...stages of their lives growing up, the little pictures and crafts that they have made me...all these things I would not want to give up. Nor would I want to leave my children in exchange to live forever. Sure I could watch them from a distance....but then I would not be a part of their lives. I would have to watch like a stalker as they go their the different phases of their lives. And...I would have to watch them die. I think that is something no sane mother would want to watch. Their own child in pain, suffer, or die...a piece of me would die right along with them. So, I would have to say, no, I could not exchange my life now to be able to live forever. :)

oh , you do ask the hardest questions, lol. i would love to live forever and it most certainly would be nice to start over and do everything different. however i would only do it if my memories were deleted from my mind.how could we start over if we still had memories of our past life, our families , children, relatonships ...i would accept an opportuntiy to start over and live forever yes but only if my mind was emptied.it is the only way anyone could start afresh.

Big no for me. It is not a big deal to start everything from the beging regarding materialistc issue, but I would not leave my hubby and my parents for anything in my life. It will be turn to a BIG YES, if i am allowed to live forever with my hubby and my parents. They have to be there with me forever too.

Nah I wouldn't Brian, I like the way life changes all the time - I never used to. Freinds come and go. Ive always belived in the Doctor Who idea that immortality is a curse. I kind of belive that idea. Anyway I wouldnt want to start again - or if I did Id perhaps do things diffrently - perhaps not?

Though it looks an attractive proposition It will be the most cruel punishment I can ever have.Seeing everyone close to me vanishing and living like a zombie unable to find an end.My God it is so unthinkable.God is smart Wolfie.

NO! NO! and NO! again .. well not unless they find a cure for Fibromyalgia Syndrome .. the only thing keeping me sane is I only have to put up with this dratted illness until I die .. hehe !!! Hmmm on the other hand ... YES! YES! and YES! again .. because in a few hundred years there be no illnesses and discomforts in life (if that is there is a planet earth by then ) ... so of course I want to live for ever .. there is so little time in one lifetime .. and so many things to try out .. and I;m stuck in a recalcitrant body that won't let me do much grrr !!!

Actually - no - I would hate it - especially as I am assuming from your question that none of my family and friends would be allowed to live forveer too. Just me! Correct me if I'm wrong there. I think it would be awful to watch everyone I love grow old, and die, while I remain the same and would have to start all over again. And I wuld not give my partner up for anything or anyone. So I will just remain a boring old mortal!

Lets see, outlive everyone around you . Watch your friends and family grow old and die. Do the same things year after year after year for an eternity. Dosen't sound all that appealing to me.

I really don't want to live forever- life is tiring sometimes! I want to be "done" at some point. Plus, there is no way I would give up my family!

For me my answer is YES I would give up everything. You know, money, house is just material thing, i could have it again just by working hard. And partners im sure you can still find it.

Why not? So long as your memories of the past will also be gone when you will start over, and you would not remember a thing each time you wake up in the morning. As if every day is a brand new day for you. Can you immagine that? LOL... That would be a good live forever. You wake up each day with no memories of the other day, no attachments. Only to live a day to its fullest because tommorow is another day. I Like it. How about you.

hmmmm... well, no, I don't think I would. If I could do it without giving up everything I might consider it, but not without my life. It just wouldn't be worth it for me as those things are the things and the people that make my life worth living on a daily basis.

i wont do it. first and foremost, i dont want to live forever. i think i'll be sad. i dont want to be left alone by my loved ones. in fact, im wishing i dont die before they do. ^__^;; and i think living forever would be boring. coz there wouldnt be anyone close to me share everything. and i dont want to witness the same problems again and again that im seeing in the society. it will be interesting to see new discoveries and inventions, but that's all there is. i wouldnt get to use it or experience it anyway. and then its tiring to wake up and sleep everyday, with the same old routine. ^.^

I already have none of these things so it wouldn't be a problem as I'd have nothing to give up.

I would have said yes before my baby but now he is the most important thing in my life - more then my life. You didn't add children specifically - but you did say EVERYTHING. Great topic!

Well, my answer is NO, I would not. I can give up a lot of things , my car,my money,my house, etc, butI don't give up a lot of things,my parents, my wife ,my children,...If I lost these, what's the mean of forever for me,there is nothing to me,I only just become a lonely pilgarlic. So I would like living like this, happily come and happily die.
