1965 was the year when everyone and everything on TV came back from the dead or from being lost, it seemed. But someone at NBC took the term reincarnation a bit too literally. This guys mother has been reincarnated as a car and talks to him through the radio. I was only six years old at the time but I still know all the words to the theme song of this show. It was a really silly show

Oh geeze. I loved Jerry VanDyke. That show was great. I was 11 or 12 at the time. Thanks for making me realize how old I am. HAHAHAHAHA! Another one I loved believe it or not was "That Girl" with Marlo Thomas. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!

oh. yes. those were the years. Jerry VanDyke and "My Mother the Car". Has it been on TVLand or any of the other cable channels? I have not heard that it has but it would find a completely new, different audience if it were.

I remember the show. I was very young also. If I also remember, it was on before "My Favorite Martian" on Sundays. Anyway, thanks for the walk down memory lane. . your friend

Yes, I remember My Mother The Car. It was so silly and far fetched. But in that era it was enjoyed. I recall Mr. Ed and Beaver and so many more. Such an age of innocense and positive thought. How nice it was. That was when I was going hippy and enjoying the music and movies and all the silliness. Wasn't that when the Minoe was launched and the Genie was on too?
