Have you seen the backpacks they have for children with the alarms in them . I saw them on television last year and just saw a discussion where a lady was worried about her children. This seems like a perfect way to safeguard your child. Since it seems all children wear backpacks a man has invited an alarm. If the child feels like they are in danger they pull a cord and a screaming siren will go off and draw attention to the child. They are at alarm.com and you can get them for adults as well as children. They come in jackets, fanny packs and backpacks. Go and check it out. I dont think you can beat the price. 10.oo for piece of mind . Or you can spend more and get one of the other devices. it looks like they start at 10.00 for the fanny pack and go up. I think that kids have to be aware of their surroundings and know who they can trust . They need to be given a password so anyone coming to pick them up at school other then a close relatived has to know that password. It will have to be one the child can remember too. Good luck and I hope this has helped someone out there that may be worried about their child.

This is very useful information. Thanks for sharing it with us. It sounds as though one of those alarms might very easily be responsible for saving a lot of kids from being attacked or worse. And the price is very reasonable, too. Of course there will probably be some false alarms from kids who pull t he cord when they don't really need to, but at least it wouldn't hurt anyone. Better safe than sorry.

This sounds(no pun intended) like a great idea. But can you imagine being in the school yard where kids decide it is great fun to pull each other cords? I would consider it for peope like nurses are go out to parking lots at all hours of the night or something like that. Just not sure about kids.

Yes I am sure there could be false alarms but the man that made them made them so when kids are running away or trying to get away they can pull a cord. The neat thing is that the backpack looks like an ordinary backpack. It is a neat thing and I work downtown and there was a couple of times I could have used one. One time for sure. I might get one for myself. Thanks for your comment.
