I already have an 18 month old boy and he is a joy! But hubby and I want at least 1 more child, and we also hope we'll have a daughter. I breastfed my son and was amenorrheic (no menstrual period) until my son turned 14 months old, which is normal for a breastfeeding mother. I had 2 menstrual periods since then. But when I did not have a period last February, I begin to think that I just might be pregnant. However, we've done 3 home pregnancy tests and it still came out negative. I am almost 3 weeks delayed so it should have been positive. Probably my hormones levels are still fluctuating because of my nursing. Oh well, there's always next month. I'm turning 37 years old this year, so I want to get pregnant before it will be difficult for me to. I'm just a bit disappointed....Today is my husband's birthday and I had hoped that my pregnancy would be a nice "gift" for him...For me too! I really want another baby!

Oh, Mama! My heart goes out to you! I think you may be right about your hormones still fluctuating. Do you have "Ask A Nurse" available, where you can call a nurse at a local clinic or hospital for free to see if this is the problem? I've also heard that stress can make it hard to have a baby, and I know this sounds hard, but maybe if you relax a little about having a baby, you just might find a nice surprise sooner than later. I wish you the best and would love to hear you've been successful soon! Please keep us posted! Blessings!

Thank you, Cougarlover. It's quite easy to get in touch with my OB (since she's my son's godmother), so I'll probably just ask her. I agree, I'm a bit stressed lately, so I may need to relax too! Thanks for reminding me.

Hello mama, please don't pressure yourself too much. They said that the more you expect it, the more it will not be given to you. Although I have my two girls before hitting 30, I feel that I'm not old enough to handle such huge responsibilities of having two girls in a row. Besides, you can use this time to enjoy your son more. Continue to pray and it will be given to you in time. All the best.

Thank you, Charms, for your kind words. I am enjoying my little boy :). Perhaps it's not time yet for his sister or brother to make an appearance :).

Thank you very much for your kind words. I guess it's just not the right time, that's why we haven't had our new "gift" yet.

Can I say I know how you feel sis? Every month that I'm delayed,we're so excited as we can be, but every negative test makes us more frustrated..I've stop checking but we never stop hoping. true,It can be your fluctuating hormones so just wait in no time you'll know you're now on the way for your 2nd child.
