Is it just me?

Or do you do this to? I have *one* pair of shoes to my name. And yes folks, I am female. I have a couple of pairs of pants. I have a couple of tshirts. Is this normal? I mean im so used to not being able to buy myself clothes or anything - that I usually spend a ton of money on my kids. I am so used to not being able to buy something and have to wear it until it falls apart, to replace it. So now, now that we have the extra to buy new clothes, I still seem to be falling back into old habits. How about you? Do you keep using things until they are hanging by a thread?

i don't do that. i have one pair of sneakers, one pair of sandals and one pair of dress shoes. tho i hate the dress shoes, they are uncomfy and i'd rather go barefoot. i only have about 4 pair of pants since i got pregnant and had this baby i still don't fit into my prepregnancy pants. i still like them but they just aren't fitting and i haven't been shopping since (he's now a year old). same with my shirts. they just don't fit anymore...tho i just finished nursing and i just bought 3 shirts at a thrift store. i'm looking forward to yard sale season this year :)

I have way too many clothes. I recently stopped buying them about 6 months ago. I have more clothes than some stores. It's rediculous, I was buying clearencel items every time I was in the store oh it's always on sale or clearence but I just think I was getting a little carried away with the need to buy something every time I went to walmart...lol

OK-- my daughter has way more fashionable clothes and shoes than me-- I love to shop for her-- I don't mind spending the money on her- as she is in school and likes to look cute- I really don't like to shop for myself- I do own way more than 1 pair of shoes- But I work in an office where the dress code is business and casual on Fridays. So I have to buy dress clothes often- Can't look frumpy- I have 1 pair of sneakers, 3 good pair of jeans-- lots of sweats-- Who wants to wear jeans or dress clothes on the weekend when you are in suits all week- So yes I like to spend my money more on my daughter than on myself-- but I do own enough clothes and shoes.

I'm in a similar situation right now. I had lost 60 pounds a couple of years ago, and got rid of my "fat" clothes. Then I got pregnant, and after delivery, I haven't been able to lose the weight, and my body shape is so different now that nothing seems to fit right. Plus, I have so little money, I'd rather spend it on groceries or something that will benefit all of us. Someday I plan on winning the lottery and going shopping, just for myself. Yeah right, like that would happen. I'd blow the money on everyone else.

I have 3 pairs of shoes, but only really wear 1 pair. The other pairs are flip flops and a pair of dress shoes that are ugly, uncomfortable, but sometimes I have to wear them. I also have had most of the clothes I own for about 6-7 years now. If I do buy new clothes, it's always the stuff that's marked about 95% off or I shop at a thrift store. Most of my best clothing has come from thrift stores, and you can't beat 99 cents for a shirt.

Yes, I hear you and am with you on the wait until if falls apart idea. I still have clothes that I have had sense they went out and back in to style. It is a hard habit to break once you finally can. It is hard to see the point. Good luck to you and happy shopping you deserve it...
