I know why they put them in. Zucchini & squash are cheap so you will find them in any prepared vegetable mix and a lot of other strange places such as spaghetti sauce. I find all kinds of veggies in spaghetti sauce. Most of which are fine pieces. Then for some odd reason some joker came up with the odd idea of putting LARGE PIECES of zucchini and squash into spaghetti sauce. Whose idea was this? You can put what ever you want into a sauce but you must maintain the consistency of the rest of the product. Putting big chunks of cucumber types of veggies into spaghetti sauce is not cool. What do you think?

ok gotta agree with you here... i hate the big chunks in my sauce love it in salsa where it belongs but not in sauce. why cant the packer or maker grind it up with the tomatoes? i have never really thought about it since i normally make my own sauce but when i have extra zucchini and squash and put them in my sauce i always cook them down with the tomatoes so there arent any big chunks. altho i only plant one zuccini plant a year cause even with one plant you get like a million zuccini..lol

This is what I am talking about. You have to maintain consistency. This is what I think. The spaghetti sauce factory already had it made. Then they got a great deal on the product. This lead them to slice it & put it in. Laziness and lack of concern for a quality product are the only reasons I can think of.
