China Orders That Pet Dogs Be Killed!

China has ordered that all pet dogs be killed in the city of Chongqing. Although working dogs will be spared, residents must give up their pets for extermination by March 15.
This shocking move by the Chinese government is part of an anti-rabies campaign, since three cases of rabies have turned up and one person actually died from the disease.
What do you think with this move, will you kill a pet to stop the disease? Is it just ok for you or you would rather suggest another course of action?

Street dogs are a great menace in our place also. India)
Everyday I can see news about people endangered by stray street dogs. Our corporation is taking steps to do something but this Blue cross etc. people are hindering the proceedings. They don't think of people affected by these dogs. This is all show. They are in Blue Cross so they oppose
to show that they are animal lovers. Government should give an order that these campaigners should take a street dog each and keep in their houses. Then we will know their true colors. Do U agree with me??

I do not think it is a good idea to kill all dogs for stoping rabies. In fact this policy reveals the bad public health insurance against infections like rabies.

thats horrible!! if an outbreak of rabies is happening i can totally understand getting rid of the strays..but to take family pets?!
they should TEST the pets!!! IF they test positive for rabies, then yes put the dog down..but if they are NOT infected then let them live!

it is a exaggerate I mean kill all the dog of a city for a few case of rabies. In my country we had some campaign like it. but only for homeless dogs. anyway kill god is very sad and it would be avoid.
