I have been so stressed lately that I have had my head hurting, my temper at an all time high, even the simple things can get all blown out of proportion. I try to control it but the more I try, the more my headaches get worse. Sadly, my children and my husband are getting the brunt (is that a word?) of this temper.. and I know it's due to the stress I'm experiencing. I'm not used to so much responsibilities. yes, you can call me lazy if you need to, but after my mom and my brother went to Canada and the family business was left to me to manage, I've experienced all sorts of stress. From bills payments, to employees salaries, to monthly rental fee of the stall we occupy, to everything, especially now that sales are so low. I am at my wits end on how to make ends meet. My head is throbbing like crazy and I think I've got a migraine forming. I'm thinking, do I need to take medications? anti depressants? pain reliever? meditation, does it really work? Can you give me suggestions on how I can relieve stress and as much as possible refrain from taking any antidepressants

Hi! Whenever I feel stressed out, I would go for a massage. It soothes my nerves and helps me think. I also go workout (in the gym). If you don't have a membership, you can actually exercise right at the comfort of your own home. You can also invite a good friend over and you can rant about each other's problems all you want. Like what you're doing now here at myLot, it's important to release all the pressure that's been inside for a while, but of course not towards your loved ones (you can still make-up for that, you know -- hehe). A friend of mine would get rid of stress by having a pedicure or a foot spa. Taking medications is only for severe depression. I don't think you're at that stage. You can still battle depression while early. I know you can do it! Good luck, friend!

oh yes, it's not easy...actually it's very hard to overcome stress or to forget about your worries and problems and I don't have an 'official work' but being a mom in itself is hard work already (if you get my drift) and I think that forums like this helps in relieving stress, since we are able to rant about our worries and angsts and somehow we cope better if we are able to voice out our problems

Save the medications for a last resort. Sounds like you have had a lot thrown on your plate all at once, I can understand why you are stressed! Delegate some responsibilities to employees you know you can trust, and ask for their input on decisions instead of trying to make them all yourself. If your children are old enough to help out, give them some small jobs, it will help them to learn a work ethic and bolster their self-confidence. Get some regular exercise, a great stress-reducer, and take some time for yourself, just to do something you enjoy. Even if it's just soaking in the tub for a few minutes in the evening after a hard day. (My preferred method!)

Yeah, I was also thinking that the medications would definitely have to be the last resort. I don't want to be dependent on any medications. Hmm... the bathtub thing.. hmm.. I will definitely try that one out....

Most time, its my work..with ontime deliveries and work loads. I try to divert mind on music and i feel better. We need to manage stress, as it is part of life in busy world. But if we concentrate, we can manage it. I does it through my yoga, listening music and going out on vacation.
