How can soil be improved when growing organically?

We always make our own compost so there is no chance of getting any chemicals from the soil. We use the leaves that we rake from the yard along with all our veggie trimmings. We also use shredded newspaper. They all inprove the soil quality without adding chemicals.

I forgot to mention, we raise rabbits so we add the rabbit poop to the garden too

Basically keep all of your vegetative scraps & start a compost pile. Then mix this compost with the soil. Get an organic fertilizer. This will also add goods to your growing medium.

chicken manure pellets local horse manure but you need the stable manure because you need the bedding straw in with it
