what drives your life?

Many people are driven by guilt- manipulated by memories, they allow past to control their future, others are drivenby resentment they hold on to hurts and never get over them. Many people are driven by fear- it is a self imposed prison that will keppus from becoing what God intends us to be. Others are driven by materialism- the desire to acquire becomes the whole goal of their lives. Other like me are driven by need for approval - I allow expectations of parents, of people to control my life. One key to failure is to try to please everyone.
Benefits of Purpose driven living:
1. Knowing our purose gives meaning to our life.
"I know what I am planning for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a goos future." jeremiah 29:11
2. Knowing your purpose simplifies your life.
People who do not know their purpose try to do too much and that causes fatigue, stress and conflict.
3. Knowing your purpose focuses our lives- it concentrates our efforts and energy on what's important.
4. Knowing our purpose motivates our life.

I guess everyone knows our purpose in life. Isn't it why we are still alive? Is life meaningful? I believe every life has a role in this universe. Whatever role we play may not be because of our purpose in life, or what we wanted our life to be. Hence, I do not agree that knowing our purpose motivates our life, and knowing our purpose gives meaning to life. I personally moved on because I want to play my role to the best of my ability, and not because of my own purpose in life.

Knowing one's purpose prepares us for eternity. We were put to the earth not to be remembered but we are put here to prepare for eternity.
The I was driven to please people, but then i realized that it is God that i should please. Doing the things that could glorify God.
And I have recognized that apart from God I am nothing, even if i strive to be what I am I know I am going no where apart from God.

Very true indeed... human as we are, these are most of the factors that affect us on how we deal with life. For me, life itself is a driving factor coz its a precious God-given gift. I believe that life is what we make it so, i make it a point to value it as God has intended. We only pass in this world once, hence it would be good to know God's purpose and live life with His guidance making use to the fullest the capacities He has given us.

yes, if we know where we are heading for, it will make living simple and we will be contentd. I myself is driven by love, i live, i work for people that i love.
