i have three of these-they are each special to me,i love them.i have 2 others who are not poly, but it seems like the poly's are unusally smart. two have a problem which i have gotten to call "superclaw" as it grows abnormal and occasionally in a circle and has to be trimmed.

cute cat - I think that this playful cat animation is too cute, I am actually considering using it for my avatar.
Our cat is polydactyl, I agree it is a very cute feature. I always thought that Mabel was exceptionally smart, and also extremely amiable. So, I am interested in your observation that they are smarter than normal toed cats. Be neat if there was a verifiable study on it, huh?

i wish they would:) one of the two boys sat there and studied a knot, proceeded to pick it apart with his claws, and made off with the batta-bird i had hung. his sister likes to fish things out of drawers with her claws-she has 7 on the one foot, and can grab about anything LOL

Mabel knows how to open the door - you can hear her turning the knob - she can not accomplish the task, but knows how it is done. She can open other doors though that have the latch instead of knob.

Our cat, fattypants, has a fully functional extra toe. It looks like he's wearing mittens :)

Yes, Nemo has an extra toe on each one of his hairy feet and he picks stuff up with his front paws and holds it like a groundhog or a gopher!

adoreable :) the lil girl cat i have who has the most toes is impossible to play toys with-once she gets a hold of it,she doesn't wanna let go-and has the claws to back it up LOL

I have two cats, neither which has this feature, but there is a cat in our neighborhood (a stray) who does have extra toes. Now I know what this 'condition' is called; I had never heard of or seen a cat like that before! He is indeed a very cool and friendly fellow!

I think that Ernest Hemingway had polydactyl cats too. They are so cool. I have normal cats with no extra digits. But they're special to me too.
