i was in the supermarket with my brother the other day and saw a family come in with about 6 children.now,i understand it IS hard to watch that many kids every moment, but these kids were taking bites out of produce, putting it back, tearing open cookies and boxes, eating them right in front of the parents, who were doing nothing. if i had tried that as a child,i would have gotten hell for it.

I, too, would have gotten in all kinds of trouble for it. Too bad a store employee wasn't around to catch it so that they could make the parents pay for the stuff. Keep in mind that eventually, the other customers end up paying for it by higher prices.

that's what i was thinking.it seems they always get away with this type of thing in that store.i guess the store just figures they'll recoop.

It is also a possibility that the family is a big customer, & they're afraid of pissing her off into not coming back, whereas the parents not spending money there is a bigger loss than the destroyed merchandise. That is, if store employees are witnessing this & not doing anything about it.

Yeah, we would have all gotten in a heck of a lot of trouble for that kind of behavior. All I can figure is that the kids were really hungry. Some people are just really poor and maybe this is the best the parents can do to keep the six kids fed. Maybe they take their kids into the store and let them munch cause they figure that noone will stop them. If the parents act disinterested then the store staff can't really do too much. I guess it's better than letting the kids go hungry. Such a sad situation.

i'm sure in some cases, that is true.it's the only way the kids get food-but i think these ones were just acting up.the lil boy scarfing the oreo's didn't look in anyway underfed.except for the grapes they were heading right for the junk food.i'm betting they're not allowed to eat it at home.
