"leadership is the big ship followed by small ships!" c",) ...nah, just kidding... here you go!: "LEADERSHIP is an ART of INFLUENCING and DIRECTING MEN to an ASSIGNED GOAL to OBTAIN their OBEDIENCE, RESPECT, TRUST, and LOYAL COOPERATION" leadership is an art! why? because you don't learn it. you don't go to school to study it. you don't go outside, play around, and know it right away. you have to hone it. some people are simply born leaders. but it doesn't necessarily mean they'd become good leaders as well. it is an art because there is no such thing as a perfect way to become a leader. "A good leader is a good follower" some may ask, why is that? simple. because if a leader is a good follower, he/she would know exactly how their subordinated would feel about their leader "directing" them to an "objective/assigned goal". another reason is that by being a good follower, you are already setting an example for your men. thus, you are "influencing" them. your men would feel your authority and then would give their "obedience". when your men become influenced by your leadership, you would then start to gain their "respect". and nobody should take respect for granted. many people die because of their lack of respect. when your men feel that you deserve all the respect you can get, they would then give you their "trust". and when you combine respect and trust, and you don't let your men down, you will surely earn their "loyal cooperation". nobody becomes a good leader overnight. some take ages to become good leaders. some, never. it all depends on how you handle your men. sometimes, you'd need to be authoritative. sometimes, you'll need to be persuasive. and sometimes, you simply need to be participative. a good leader doesn't necessarily have to use these leadership styles. but a good leader definitely knows when to use a specific style.

Well... just an additional thought for those who want to become great leaders :) "A good leader takes a little less of the credits, and gets a little more of the blame :)"
